Re: Best version of Floorshow
The version on the Floorshow EP is absolutely cracking. In fact the whole EP is a real Sisters highlight to me - punk energy meets brilliant tunes and some great lyrics. Such a quantum leap from Damage Done - some days I wonder whether The Sisters ever really bettered it.

Long Train / Ghostrider
I was listening to Long Train today, and something about it just suddenly reminded me a lot of Ghostrider. I'm not sure why - just the vibe, and the looseness of it all. Oh, and right at the end Eldritch actually sings "ride, ride, ride-ride-ride." And I wondered whether Long Train might b...

Re: An overdue hello
Welcome to the forum! One of the main reasons I like the Sisters so much is that every time you think about Von's lyrics, you see something you haven't noticed before - that's true for all of us I suspect.

It's really glorious to see the effort they're putting into these performances. Where will it all end??

Very nice! I Was Wrong is sounding very nice. Not a song I ever thought really worked live, but that was great. Lots of tweaks to the sound that all seem to be working.

Have they changed the ending to Genevieve too? Maybe it was changed a while back, but anyway, it sounds great here

I only just noticed Von sings Suzanne without any backing vocals. And does a pretty good job!

Re: Happy Birthday Vision Thing - the Album
I listen to it much less than Floodland and FALAA, because there are so many songs there that I kind of admire without really liking. Ribbons is obviously wonderful (yes, especially in that live version, which is like the sound of ragnarok). I quite like I Was Wrong and Something Fast, and I seem to...

It's just a really weak song, whoever does it. One of the weak points in the Sisters canon

We don't need an AI Eldritch, we already have the Merry Thoughts! Plonkers on youtube already get them mixed up
Mind you, if you listen to their song Low Violet, the similarity to Von is IMHO pretty remarkable...

Re: Eldritch has become Billy Bragg
1985 would have been very early to have been talking about climate change. "Run around in the radiation...run around in the acid rain" So maybe nuclear war, but no climate change reference there I don't think.

Re: Eldritch has become Billy Bragg
It’s been obvious since the early days that The Sisters are a) political, and b) left-wing. The Reptile House EP made that pretty clear, for example.

Re: Your Hypothetical New Sisters Album Track List
That looks fantastic. It makes me very happy / sad. What a day that would be, to walk into a record shop and buy that (I got into the Sisters immediately after Vision Thing was released - I've NEVER had the experience of getting my hands on a proper new album from them )
