This Corrosion (Spiral Tribe Mix)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hi all,

I was just listening to the Spiral Tribe Mix from This Corrosion
which I downloaded some time ago from Kazaa.
I find this a very funny kind of mix :P

I wonder:
- who did it?
- was it ever officialy released?
- when was it done?

Thanks,
Peter KJ

Okay.....

I had a rummage around www.discogs.com and I can't find anything other than the Sister's version (weird given its a dance music database really!)

Also checked GEMM and Musicstack, record shop databases..

Nothing...

Alas, I am san's music at work but if someone can PM me a link to the MP3 I'll have a listen to it tonight at home..

One thing is, Spiral Tribe are technically no more, but rather a loose coallition of artists these days.. having had to leave the UK following Castle Morton..

anyone on this now able to tell me what kind of speed this is recorded at??

Most of their stuff tends towards hard tekno, which is usually bout 150/160bpm.. quite bouncy and plenty of clashing samples etc....

What I figure is, that someone has done the remix and possibly ripped the Spiral Tribe name to draw attention to themselves...

Anyway, I'll give you my proper opinion when I hear it..

As for availability, I reckon it might be just an MP3, especially if its NOT a Spirals record... Other than that, either white label or distributed through a French techno label... so good luck finding it if it was ever pressed!

Only other thing, is if it is a REALLY old Spiral's record from like 90/91 and it was only printed on white label...

Now that is going to be worth £££££££££££!!!!!

@ Gottdammerung

its a slightly faster, bouncier version with verses and bridges chopped & looped.

i've only heard a couple of spiral tribe ttracks but this nothing like their stuff...

:?

its been around the p2p world for a few years now but i think you may be correct about it being a case of someone using their name for publicity for the remix...

that said, its not actually all that bad 8)

I just downloaded it. It sounds like one of those early 80's '12" Extended Mix''s which just chop and change round tunes. Reasonably well done, but I would bet an awful lot of money on it having absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Spiral Tribe.
