HAl... you really DON'T want to know how they were planning to call themselves before Turbonegro. Believe me, Turbonegro is not that bad name, consideringhallucienate wrote:I can't believe that band's name If I had to mention it in public I'd probably get carted off to the police station.
Turbonegro in Leeds

What sort of music is it? If I see them at wasted, what are my chances of survival... given that I generally have a bad time with right-wing skinhead punks?
They are not skinheads/rightwing etc. They are sarcastic, cynical band, and they are taking a p**s out of everything. Their music is called deathpunk - very melodic, loud, fast, with great choruses - and it is the tighttest band ever. Bit motorhead/kiss/alice cooper but so much better!!! Lyrics - mostly very sexual. Doomie, if you are going to Wasted, go and see them (considering they are still playing, they have been offered another gig at the same date a few days ago).d00mw0lf wrote: good greif...

*shrug* Joy Division isn't exactly a socially-acceptable name. I guess if you go to even one level of complexity, it suddenly doesn't bother people.d00mw0lf wrote:...right-wing skinhead punks?
Hell, The Sisters of Mercy? Prostitution and Religion? Frankly, I don't think you can get much sicker.
Don't listen to Turbonegro myself, but have kept an eye on their career, going long since dredging the Kerranged gutter.
Might have a look into it then... Providing they don't clash with Rev hammerDelilah wrote:They are not skinheads/rightwing etc. They are sarcastic, cynical band, and they are taking a p**s out of everything. some TJ friends of mine travelling to the TURBO gigs in Leeds from Deutschland cannot find tickets online for the Cockpit show, is there an online shop for Cockpit events? London gigs are already sold-out and they don't want to travel up there and end up outside the gate! How likely is that the Leeds show will sell-out?

Without wanting to volunteer anyone, maybe one of the Leeds denizens on HL could buy them for your friends, if they can get the money to them?
Personally I've always ordered Cockpit tickets from Jumbo. They're a record shop with quite an established ticket outlet.Turbonegro + Mondo Generator

I am going to be there!!!! God, I may end up needing a new liver if I keep being a Jugend... Which is a VERY intense thing.
To stop annoying you folks with that band, I would like to inform you that I am going to move all my words of delight to another forum which is more appropriate!
