The meaning of SUMMER

Got any interesting thoughts on a set of lyrics? Any that don't involve the word "indeed"? Find yourself struggling to decipher all those obtuse references Von makes? Its about a girl who commits suicide because of abuse, isn't it?

A doorway can be an opportunity to escape something.

"Raining" can be a transitive and intransitive verb to drop or fall, or deliver something, in the form of a great number of units arriving separately but in quick succession. A pill overdose.
another shade of blue
She is feeling depressed, or the blue is bruising on her body
another shade of yellow, sunset yellow
"Yellow" - afraid & cowardly, she is afraid of the abuser so she takes what some people think is the cowards way out - suicide

"sunset" the end of the day - the end of her life.
another shade of you can make it summer
Summer can mean a period of great happiness - She thinks death will bring happiness.
paint your face once more, paint the walls away now
It either means she is using makeup to cover up bruising or she is making an outward appearance so everyone thinks she is ok, or it could mean both.
walking into wishful
Her life is unsatisfactory, she wants a way out.
talking at each other, walking into walls
She is making excuses about her bruising to her friend, claiming she walked into a wall or something.

It could also mean her friend or someone is trying to help her, but a wall is something that is preventing communication.
I've heard it all before
The person or friend saying that they have heard all the excuses before.
I've seen it all before
The person again, this time saying they've seen this happen before, they know what is going on.
another shade of you, can make it summer
This could also be the person telling her that only she can change the situation, if she leaves the abuser or stands up to the abuser maybe then she can achieve summer, but the girl chooses her own way to achieve summer - suicide.

i think it's about domestic abuse, yellow being associated with the colour of bruising and shine being 'possibly' a black eye, but i disagree with suicide. i think the 'another shade of you can make it shine' is a very :notworthy: clever way of writing both sides of the story at once - trapped in a violent, loveless relationship, wishing for the 'relationship', nothing more, to end. another shade of you being - have the balls to let me/ you walk away from it

agreed the lyrics are superb 8)
