getting started

Have you established a good reputation at HL and got some Sisters stuff to sell or trade with the community? Or are you searching for that elusive ultra rare live bootleg from 1988? Ever had a bad experience with a trader on Ebay? Let us all know here. Outdated threads will be purged over time.

Warning: Newcomers posting here first will be treated like spammers. At least have the courtesy to say hello in General Chat first...

Hi,

despite having been a fan since floodland era, I am a complete newbie to sisters forums (stands back and waits for abuse......)

am looking for advice on building up a collection of live cds/audio of gigs - everyone seems to be welcoming trading, which is fair enough.... except the only gig I have is york 16/02/2001 and every bugger seems to have it already !!! its a bit tricky to trade when you have little to offer..

so where to begin??? (other than the obvious answer of ebay!)

any general advise/pointers gratefully received.

We have this great little place called Weeding. You'll find it just under this Trading area on the main menu.

Read the FAQs then ask for a couple of gigs. Don't go crazy and ask for loads at once ( :innocent: ) .

Other places to find gigs are on Soulseek, Dimeadozen (sometimes) and various other places around the net.

Do you have anything to trade by other bands?

SomeKindOfStranger--

I'm also a long time fan, but have tuned out since about 1999. But I'm back, a more or less in the same situation as you. A kind member of the boards is sending me a custom made compilation of all the 'new' Sisters stuff since 1993 or so. As soon as it arrives, I will be weeding it.

I think a disc like this, while being of no use for most people on the board, is a good re-intro for folks like us.

Keep an eye on the weeding section and PM if you're interested when it's posted.

Cheers,
Brian

SomeKindOf Stranger--The CD I've got is a bit more brief, focusing more on the new songs (not so much new versions, covers, etc).

Paint It Black--I might be interested in that three disc comp meself 8) Is it in the weeding section, or would a vine be more appropriate? Listen to me, using the lingo and everything.

Cheers,
Brian
