Meanwhile... in the FGG camp...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

... things are nearing an end.

Two weeks and all the songs will be ready. I hope.

Time to start a new thread I thought by myself et al.

I'll keep you posted.

I put up a new song on the website ('Le Jugement Du Roi En Jaune', probably the song with the MOST tracks I'll ever make  ), together with the other new song that was already there ('Dogged'). You can find them in the 'downloads' section. For the site, see my signature as always.

This is what the CD will sound like, eventually. After the final mastering that is.

Enjoy ;D Off for a well-deserved drink now.

First time I've got round to listening to FGG.

Not sure Dogged is my cup of tea, but Le Jugement Du Roi En Jaune is fookin' brilliant! :notworthy:

Whassat? The Judgement of the King with Jaundice or something? Crazy foreigners.

As stated already in the 'pissed off' thread:

My Big Machine's HD crashed. With all The FGG sessions on it.

I hope I have all the backup DVDs from the last couple of days (I'm a notorious backup freak, so not too much worry, but some things could've been lost), and that Steinberg Nuendo will happily recognize all the DVD working sessions.

Otherwise it will be a very quiet period on Izzy Mountains...

I will keep the people with interests in FGG posted, of course.

Now excuse me while I'm going to hit a rather defenseless wall or something.

Yes, but that was with my laptop, which is supposed to crash now and then, just out of sheer laptopness ;D

But the Big Machine oughtn't crash, should be stable as a rock :| Maybe just a HD made on a blue Monday or so...

Now, I reviewed the backups and all seems to work well, so no worries :)

Just imagine, a week or so before the CD is wholly finished, all audio files lost *shudders*...

So remember kids: duck and cover! Erm.... make backups I mean

*rushes to make sure one or two things are backed up*

It doesn't matter a great deal if I lose everything, it just means I can't edit ANY of the songs anymore. Which is fine, since they're finished. :P

Ah, glad you had backups, this sort of things is always quite painful otherwise :)

Songs are NEVER finished. You just have to stop making them better before you go nuts ;)

That's why I always backup my Nuendo sessions together with the stereo WAV files. OK, takes one full 4,7 Gb DVD to burn three songs on, but I can edit them again afterwards! ;D

They're finished because I said they were. :P
I know a lot of the songs could be improved, but that can be something to look into in the future.

Besides, live (and we have all but confirmed there WILL be a gig soon) and possibly even on the next release, we'll be using real drums. It gets annoying trying to write drum machine riffs, when I have a drummer in the band
