Geek's corner !- I need your help too!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

buy a DVD recorder from Argos...plug it into your Video...press record

Alba DVD recorder £79

oh and it's pronounced Argus...
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

I thought there might be a way of using my PC, I was hoping that a few "cables and stuff" might do the trick.
As much as I like The MacKenzies I can't afford £80 for the one video :(

there prolly is a PC friendly way of doing it...but it's simpler to just plug in yer Video to a DVD recorder...tho saying that i wouldn't be supprised if there's a way to plug your video into your PC too...

wait until the real geeks get back to you...then you'll have an intelligent answer  :innocent:

Looking up at my videos, I've only got eight that I would want to copy:
m*****n - Crusade
m*****n - From Dusk To Dawn
The Cult - Love + Electric
New Model Army - Videos 86 - 89
Fat Slags
Sid The Sexist
and, Hearts - Cup Glory, all of which I'm sure I could get on DVD for less than the cost of a DVD recorder, and much of better quality than a video copy.

If you have a video in connection on the PC (assuming it has a DVD burner) it should be easy, normally a yellow phono connector or SVHS input. You would also have to connect audio out from the source to the soundcard. SCART to phono, plus a mini jack connector should do it…

i see what you're getting at Keith...still...you'll not go wrong with a DVD recorder...how will you watch your footie and Take The High Road at the same time when your video recorder is f**ked?

Oh no, there's absolutely no way on Gods Earth that I'll ever understand it in an e-mail, nope, no "Stewart Granger", it'll have to be over a pint or five in a Morayshire CHOOCHTER pub, yip, it's the only way
