Upcoming releases....WTF

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Sisters of Mercy, The (title TBA; first album since 1990) (Merciful Release, early 2006)
It's probably been there since the site started, with the release date being incremented year-by-year. Pay no attention to it.

They've got some of the other artists' albums right (and some wrong), but if there was ANY chance of an album in the next six months, surely we'd know about it by now? I mean, there have been rumours of movements in Leeds, but nothing on any record contract, right? I personally am wishing for something else for Christmas right now.

Guess you are right MrChris......so maybe next Christmas.

Maybe on the 25th anniversary some journalist AE does not dislike wants an interview about the past and the future of the Sisters. Maybe that journalist will ask the question whether anything is going to be officially released in the future and maybe AE gives an answer that does not take away my hopes.....

Will I Dream?

Give the journalist a good pair of tits and you'll get the answer you dream of.

I believe there is anecdotal evidence to the contrary. Putting it mildly.

oohhh! Wouldn't it be nice . . .

Although, putting out a record in secret would rather seem to defeat the point. Maybe it's just obtuse enough to appeal to Mr E though. Imagine the scene- dodgy darkling approaches the trenchcoated one to plead yet again for the release of new product, only to be told, it was put out six months ago. "Didn't you notice?"

Maybe AE should go back to the method that worked in the first place: he wants to hear himself on the radio, and presses a thousand copies of the new single.

What's the name of the short street just off the Reeperbahn? Erichstrasse?

In any case, if there's no post on the official website, the horse's mouth, there's probably no need to get worked up. Tours are usually posted promptly, there's no reason to believe that any information concerning the release date of a new album wouldn't be posted promptly as well.

The rest is rumor mill grist

I think their own site is the last thing we ought to look at, remember this summer's gigs?

No. ;)

Herbertstrasse, ah yes. "Just walk down the street, I'll meet you on the other side," said Heike. "Why?" said I. "Because they'll throw dirty water at me if I walk down there with you." Heike had a good gigle when I emeged on the other side.

Have any ladies here walked down Herbertstrasse? Can they verify the dirty water?
