Put correct track listings on the wiki?

Have you established a good reputation at HL and got some Sisters stuff to sell or trade with the community? Or are you searching for that elusive ultra rare live bootleg from 1988? Ever had a bad experience with a trader on Ebay? Let us all know here. Outdated threads will be purged over time.

Warning: Newcomers posting here first will be treated like spammers. At least have the courtesy to say hello in General Chat first...

Why does it happen so fücking often with Sisters gigs that the dates and venues get fücked up?
I have the impression that two different things happen:
a) There are wrong tracklists around, which make people like myself doubt their own recordings, because they believe other people more than their own ears and experience...

b) I assume that there are a few people who are trying to make money on ebay by selling fake gigs. And it could probably happen to any of us that we see a particular show on ebay we've been looking for and can't resist. Plus there probably are enough HL newbies or non-members around who either don't have a chance to obtain anything by trading (because they haven't got anything to offer yet) or don't know about weeding, and therefore buy their booties on ebay.

As somebody else has said: We're still not well enough organised yet.

Ceterum censeo: We need an absolutely correct and fool-proof tracklist for every existing Sisters bootie somewhere on this forum. And I'm dead sure that there is enough knowledge around to achieve that. I'm currently checking through my whole collection by listening to all the gigs and comparing the tracks with several lists I have at hand. And although my contribution might be of limited use I'll be glad to share the knowledge I'm currently collecting (by comparing and asking questions where things seem unclear). But we'd be quicker if more people contributed to such a project.

Good idea, Eva

Perhaps we could put those tracklists into the Wiki then?

I don't have much material myself, but if everyone would pass their lists, I wouldn't mind being the central person that combines the lists and puts them up on a central place

That'd be great, Zeno! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Stupid question: Why in the Wiki and not as "stickies" in the Trading and the Weeding sections? I only ask because these two are where I'd look first.
The most important thing though would be that the list can be edited, so information can be added at any time to any already mentioned or newly added gig.

I need to double check a few recordings from 1983, and then I could send you what I've found out so far about the years 81-83. As a next step I could write down the tracklistings of my own recordings of the 2003/2005 period, cause of those I know they're correct, and I also know that there is at least one wrong tracklist for a 2003 recording around, which can cause a lot of confusion and grief...

It could be a joint effort. The wiki would be an ideal place; we can start at the gigography where I have just changed all the dates to (as yet dead) links.

Wherever. The first tracklist that finally has to be available as absolutely correct, is Berlin, 1. 3. 2001:
Intro + Dominion/Mother Russia + Come Together + Ribbons + Crash and Burn + Body Electric + Summer + On the Wire/Teachers/On the Wire + We Are the Same, Susanne + Giving Ground + Will I Dream? + Flood I + Train/Detonation Boulevard + War on Drugs + Alice + Romeo Down + Flood II + Capricorn + I Didn't Know I Loved You (Till I Saw You Rock'n'Roll) + Something Fast + Snub Nose + Temple of Love (short version)

Edit: I've just added this to the Sisters Wiki. Excellent place for tracklisting! :notworthy:

As I've said before, 81-83 will follow asap.

PS! Maybe split this thread from the Duesseldorf thread?

Cool! Why not make an account for yourself? That way we'll be able to see who's uploaded what.

On the wiki, it's editable by anyone; whereas on here, it would only be editable by mods. :D

I split this from the Düsseldorf thread as per your suggestion ;)

Would that mean that one could see something like: Eva has posted the tracklist, xy has provided such-and-such additional information etc.?*

That would be excellent!

*I apologize for asking "stupid" questions but I've got a terrible cold and therefore can use only about 1% of my brain and mind at the moment...

Do I have to do more than follow your link and create my account?

Not quite that straight forward, but yes there would be a revision history. It notes every change made on the Wiki.

Just a quickie; some of the gigs have entries already in the Live Bootlegs section. I'll set up redirects links for them under the dated entries.

When I can be arsed.

Ok, this is quickly becoming far too intellectual for me... I'll do as Obviousman has suggested: Post him what I have and let him do the intellectual job... ;D

*edit*

the reason i've never bothered with the 2003 gigs is coz they were bollox and i don't listen to many of them. the early stuff though, that should be correct ;D

Do I understand you correctly, PiB, that Duesseldorf 7. May 1985 indeed has the "we will rock you" chanting? The version I just got from a very reliable source definitely is a german gig, and it doesn't sound as if any songs had been added from anywhere else. It also has a slightly different setlist as the Bremen 1985 one a few days later.

Edit: Great, PiB, that spares us a lot of work. And just in case: No offence meant with what I said about making a correct tracklisting available and wrong tracklists being around. It's just that obviously some people (including me) have difficulties identifying certain recordings and/or are unsure of certain tracklists despite already available sites with tracklists. In that case I think it does make sense to make something fool proof available instead of spamming one or two long-term collectors' inboxes with questions about large amounts of dodgy recordings. Especially if these long-term collectors have a life. :innocent:

Okay, I'll start putting tracklists into the wiki tonight or tomorrow morning then, based on PiB's site, and eventually cross check them with whatever Eva sends in and Hal's site :D

Perhaps we can put in notes about how rare the recordings are and things we can recognise the records by :?: And if you know of any that got mixed up, put a note about that in as well... Just ideas, of course...

I've added a few dates of the '91 Public Enemy tour (some of the dates that were cancelled, with the mentioning of the wording 'cancelled' between brackets naturally)

...

Does anyone remember were we had the 'gigs missing from the official gigography' discussion here on Heartland (the URL) about a year 1/2 ago?

Thanks,

It's good to be back btw. :D
