Very funny indeed, more cringe-worthy than any episode of Alan Partridge. Thanks Dan

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

ok, mate of a mate (which makes it about as credible as it gets, trust me ) was in a 'very interesting' band (if it was a person it'd have a very nice personality), called (something like) 'beautiful happiness' or some other such rubbish (but, they did have a record contract & european tour (b*stards!!)) around the time of the happy mondays etc etc, same kind of musical thing. anyway, they played a gig in leeds (or possibly london, i can't remember now, it all seems long long ago), and who should turn up, but hussey.
he walks up to a rather good looking girl at the bar (who just so happened to be the drummers gf) and gives it the 'hi babes, i bet you know who i am?' 'smile' 'smile'...
'yeah' she says 'your that big nosed t*at that USED to be in the sisters' (much laughter between her 'n' mates!)
15 seconds later she's wearing a pint of lager and he gets promptly sued by girl/band (for the publicity) for ABH!!!!!!!
anyway, made me laugh
Ah...
I dont care!
I absolutely LOVE That Guitarist and THE m*****n
As the matter of fact THE FIRST CHAPTER is among my top 10 favourites...
And as even greater joy - GRAINS OF SAND is playing in my player right now!
I just love them...
They kept going when every other goth band denounced that Goth tag and when whole subculture disappeared completely...
What ever you think - you MUST admire

Just found this rather amusing anecdote from Steve Albini's tour diary......
The m*****n played and were comical. The wind blew their smoke away, and the drunken Bleegs pelted them with mud, prompting the lead homo to whine (as he stamped off the stage), "Listen, I washed my hair just for you, and I wore my best shirt. This is how you treat us?" Which should have been answered with another tubful of Beegois mud, but wasn't. We stole two cases of beer from them, and I pissed on their amps in the truck.

I was at Pukkelpop that day. Doing security at the dressing room of... would you believe it - The Mish. I saw them getting pelted with sods of grass, not mud, as it was a warm and dry day. Afterwards, some fans wanted to get in and Wayne instructed us to only let the girls in, much to the chagrin of their boyfriends and male fans. That was definitely in their heyday. Pukkelpop in those days was real fun. This was the second edition. The first one, I remember Daniel B. from Front 242 egging on the crowd to storm the stage and throw down the Heras fences the organisation had put up to serve as crash barriers. Ahh, the memories...

Daniel? He's getting OLD then. Nowadays he just wants to be left alone and work on his private noise projects hehe...Ahráyeph wrote:I was at Pukkelpop that day. On the official Mish forum, Wayne is trying to sort out VIP tickets for some die hard fans who got messed around with the ticket/credit card companies when they went on sale.
