Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I'll just be on my own. I doubt that Nicos has changed, but there's alway Yates' which is on the same block as the ABC, or the Sports Bar which is right next to it. I'm thinking that if we want to nab the comfy sofas to the right of the stage, we'll need to be near the start of the queue, and either of these pubs would enable us to keep an eye on the queue. Depending on how desperate we are for the sofas, it might even involve people queuing up rather than bevvying. Or else taking turns in the queue. I'm not doing it all on my own though.
I think Nico's or Yates at 5pm with a queuing/drinking/talking bollocks rota might be best. Only a suggestion folks.
and I forgot smiscandlon
sorry Steven

Eek! He might as well enjoy it while he still can. I'll most likely be passing by the ABC tomorrow, so I'll find out what pub with big windows is exactly across from the venue. But when it comes down to it, I'll meet up anywhere they serve cider.

It's only the old hogshead next to Queen Street Station, the "Drum and Monkey" on St Vincent Street and a pub called "The Three Craws" near Anniesland, that are the only smoke free pubs I know about in Glesga!

Is that not the 'big jd wetherspoon's bar' on the corner?

No that's a block or two along from it. I passed by today and forgot to look as well. Bauhaus isn't up in lights yet - it's still Bob Mould above the door. I think I favour Yates, cos the food's quite good (and I will need some if we're meeting up at 5) and I can't remember how close Nicos is to the ABC.
I think it must be a Yates' thing, although I do abhor the very idea of a 'wine lodge'
