the main gigging & recording one not the anaconda one...
i've just been informed that i am to be rewarded for all my hard work () on a certain sisters-offshoot band's website
i gather my reward is to be no less than a real, genooowine, honest-to-god piece of moosikal eekwipment, which while not actually in a playable condition, still has considerable historical significance if you're into that kind of thing, which i am.
lets just say it was trashed on stage after a gig in nottingham, circa may 1984
now THAT shall be going on the wall. if i can find something to glue it all back together with....henceforth quiff towers shall be renamed the quiff rock cafe
[edit]Extracted from the "Slightly happy today..." thread by QB because it could quite nicely turn into an FAQ about Gary's guitar [/edit]

Le Gasp! All that Inner Circle, robes and secret handshake stuff paid off?
I hope you'll be very happy together, and that the gallery will soon have a new addition

i've got one of his plectrums and that's one of my prize possessions...
so when do you get eldritch's hat and cloak as (unofficial, of course) reward for your work on this forum?

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I got it soon after the Sisters became a gigging unit buying it off a mate
of Craig's. Pretty much all the pre Warners era gigs would have seen me
using it for some or all of the gig. It also features on a good many
recordings and official releases (certainly there on Heartland and
Floorshow, probably on Adrenochrome and Body Electric as well).
As I said it bit the dust at Rock City - I snapped the head clean off and
despite a valiant attempt to glue it back together it was never played
again. If you check out the back of the body you can see an early attempt
in white paint at the Anaconda snake-skin pattern.
As if that weren't enough I dare say I wrote all the stuff on FAALA on it
(never went in for that acoustic guitar approach.)
thus:
SHERGOLD MASQUERADER

though it doesnt sound as if the one i'm getting will look quite as pristine the one in that photo

What a tale!
How on Earth did he manage to hurt it so badly? Snapped the head right off?! In the middle of a gig?!

i'm keen to hear the recording of the gig to see if you can hear it
apparently gary had to get hold of a new guitar for the gig the next evening as he only had the one with him at the time
i would assume the *crash* would be towads the end of the gig... maybe during one of the dok's sister ray outros...?

2nd May
Burn, Heartland, Walk Away, Anaconda, Body and Soul, Floorshow, Emma, Adrenochrome, Alice, Body Electric, Gimme Shelter, Sister Ray
(it'd be a straight swap for the guitar of course! )

marx's (yours!) could be said to have been "customised" ...thus accidentally starting that hideous 80's trend for headless guitars!
