Ok kids,
I made it! It's only two hours until they open the doors at Razzmatazz and I am very jealous of those people who were at the Riviera last night. It sounds like it was a damn fine concert with the lovely Spanish crowd. Unfortunately, after flying from Chicago and having worked on Thursday morning my body was numb.
Today I have been at the beach, I have drunk moscatel (among other things) and I am ready to enjoy this concert regardless of the low sound, excessive smoke, DATs, invisible drummers, bad setlists (??!!), and lack of B-sides from 1914. Unfortunately I did not bring my minidisc recorder so do not expect a soundboard recording from me. Maybe, if the hangover allows me, a review will come tomorrow. I still have to drive back to Zaragoza, so...
Anyway, for those interested I will be the one with the Laibach "Kapital US tour" shirt, so we can make friends.
A pasarlo bien.

You are very very bad people and you must be punished
2nd thing to say is - what a s**t audience. Loads of people where I was complaining that is was "all recorded" and talking through the whole gig. I yelled at to shut the f**k up which help a bit though Diplomacy was never a strong point.
Setlist was roughly:
Crash and Burn
Ribbons
Dr Jeep/Det Boulevard
When you don't see me
Susanne
Dominion/MR
Summer
Slept
Giving Ground
Burn (ultra short version)
Alice
Anaconda
Flood2
---------
Ummm - memory fails me
Lucretia
---------
Top nite out
TOL
I'm missing something, so someone else can add later.
Overall - pretty ok apart from the crowd. The sound was clear but not as loud as I'm used to in razzmatazz. I didn't thing Von's voice was too bad, but he got booed massively at some point - got the feeling it was a floodland sond, but can't remember what - must have missed it of the list above. After Giving Ground? Not sure.
Before the second encore Von came on stage with someone from the venue (presumably). The croud jeered, he told them to listen and she said there would be another concert at some unspecified date for all ticket holders, so keep your tickets.
Second encore then she came on again and said the same thing.
That's all basically. Did I enjoy it? Yeah. As much as I could? No. But I've got a new teeshirt, the first since the Tune in Turn on Burn out tour, so well overdue.
T-shirts: Uteerly Bastard Groovy, new logo, tour, Sisters gegen Nazis, militant sex machine.
That's all.

Oh yeah, I did record it, but don't hold up much hope. My record in this isn't good. My mate dialled in from the UK too, but I haven't actually managed to speak to him so I don't know if anything was actually listenable to.
And that really is it.
Goodnight.

VENUE: QUITE GOOD
SOUND: QUITE GOOD
VON´S VOICE: DAMAGE(HE DID HER BEST IN MADRID, AND NOW HE´S SUFFERING THE CONSECUENCES)
THE CROWD: THE WORST ONE THAT I´VE EVER SEEN. PATHETIC(EXCEPT THE HEARTLANDER, AND SOME MORE THAT TRY TO SUPPORT THEM)
THEY WERE DISSAPOINTING EVEN IN THE CLASIC SONGS, VON STOPPED OF SINGING IN A LOT OF TRACKS,LOOK AT THE CROWD AND WONDER TO HIM SELF WHAT THE F... IS HAPPENING.
BARCELONA CROWD YOU MUST LEARN OF THE MADRID CROWD(PEOPLE THAT GO TO ENJOT AND HAVE TIME)
IN THE SECOND BREAK A WOMAN WAS IN THE STAGE WHIT ANDREW AND SHE BASSICLY SAID THAT ANDREW HAS HIS VOICE DAMAGE AND KEEP THE TICKET FOR A FREE NEW SHOW WHEN IT´S POSSIBLE(SINCERALY IF I WERE VONM, I WOULD´T COME TO BARCELONA ANYMORE)
AND WHIT THIS CIRCUNSTANCES I DID ENJOY.

Voice failure kicking in or what?
Very sorry to hear that, hope it'll be up to business back soon Very courteous of him to offer free ticks though

audiences in barcelona are usually much more receptive, i'm not sure what went wrong last night. bands often make a point of playing here BECAUSE of the audience.dtsom wrote:BARCELONA CROWD YOU MUST LEARN OF THE MADRID CROWD(PEOPLE THAT GO TO ENJOT AND HAVE TIME)
the offer of a free gig is telling though - von actually does care about his public, whatever he may say.
some guys there didn't believe they'll play the free gig and offered us their tickets. should have taken them, shouldn't we? lol

Barcelona gig review:
tickets said doors were at 7:30pm.....
Razzmatazz proceeded to make us queue in the
cold outside the venue, where there
are no bars (it’s an old industrial zone)
for one hour and fifteen minutes until 8:45
before opening the doors...what the hell
was that all about
by the time most people got in the venue
at 9pm they were presented with the choice
of having a drink or two, or forgoing
a drink in order to secure a place
at the front of the gig, since the dance
floor quickly got crowded.
Sisters came on about 10pm,
sound was strong; I last saw the Sisters
in 2003 and I think the mix is just as
good now, if not better - drums and bass sound
was very solid and powerful.
No complaints about the guitarists whatsoever.
Ben has a more metal style than Adam had,
but in the live situation that doesn’t
detract from the performance. If anything,
they are more animated than the previous
guitarists and this makes the show more
interesting. Lights and smoke were great (better than Madrid).
As had been alluded to elsewhere on this
thread, the audience, at least at the front,
was about as boring as I have ever
seen at a Sisters show, and I have seen
about 18 Sisters gigs before.
there were people in the second rows in
the middle that literally did not move
for the entire show.
There were people who spent the entire
show taking photos with their phone,
like some kind of morbid voyeurism
to do with seeing the Sisters
in the flesh....its a gig, for gods
sake ! not a f**king movie! trying
getting involved!
And a note to the guy who spent the
whole gig looking through the view
finder of his compact digital camera,
making a ´video´of the gig from
the 5th row.... Maybe that´s your
idea of a fun night out, but it ain´t
Mine....thanks for obscuring everyone
Else’s view behind you.
The lack of audience participation
kind of spoilt it for me;
the only time the crowd really got
going was during Lucretia.
I guess AE knew better than us how
well his voice was holding out (or not)
and probably realised that playing
Vision Thing simply wasn´t possible.
Was a shame to see him defeated by
his strained vocal chords, but at least
he had the decency to admit it and
offer the audience a free gig.
I don´t think anyone would have
noticed if they just played Top Nite
Out and Temple of Love and left the
stage.
Gig finished about 11:15-11:30,
by which time the bar was shut.....
great organisation RazzMatazz!! NOT!
I had a better time in Madrid the night
before, even though the Venue wasn´t
as intimate.

I think they were brave to play so many songs that are new
to a spanish audience; will i dream, romeo down, summer,
crash and burn, suzanne, slept..... I imagine most of the audience
were totally unfamiliar with these songs.

I do not share your opinion at all. Thanks to this kind of people, we can get videos of the concerts. And I do not think this is a really "fun" thing to do.Ocean Moves wrote:And a note to the guy who spent the
