from the RLYL-Malinglist:
some kind of OT
but I am sure most of you members do like (or better have liked) this
Leeds based band.

After Marx and Hussey/Adams left I've lost my interest in what SOM
played afterwards.
But I went to see them in Roma 2 days ago, hoping they would play some
good old music. Well, it was not worth the 30 eur of the ticket.
A synthesized bass, 2 metal guitars and Eldricht's voice, and behind the
immortal Dr. Avalanche and some minor sequenced keyboards.
The sound was good (apart from the bass) and Eldricht's voice was really
mean, but the songs... the songs...
The only played Alice, Anaconda and Temple of Love worth to listen. All
the rest was kind of s**t. Ok I knew most of FALAA was written by
Hussey, but I thought at least they would play Body electric, Floorshow,
Heartland, Adrenochrome... Emma.... Ghostrider/Sister ray... they
didn't. I still can't believe it.

I also wonder what (if any) relations have been between the sisters of
mercy and the lorries... Steve? maybe you can give us an answer?

...

I totally agree... I saw SOM on the Vision Thing tour and it was a great
show..then a couple of years ago and they sucked a**. It was a total
money grab.
Two guitarists and Andrew...poor versions of their own songs...they sooo
sucked would have been better to spend the money seeing a cover band.

...

You know I have never seen them. But I heard they blew
here in the States too. If you like seeing lots of fog
for $60 and barely the band then that is your cup of
tea but not mind. Such a shame to hide behind all that
fog of haze.

Jesus, will this kind of people ever be able to understand that the question is NOT "Is something good or bad?" but "Do I like it or not?" ( > and if I don't, it's not because it's bad but because for some reason I don't like it). For God's sake, it's not difficult to see the difference.

I suggest we send them to Ancient Egipt to help building the pyramids. At least they'd be of some use for the beauty-loving part of prosperity.

Err, they say you should sign up to the forum to see the complete video - which I did - but I can't really find it, patience or is my Italian bad enough so I don't notice it? (it isn't any good at all, for the record, just absolute basics )
