THE CURE

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

You can call me a The Cure fan. But not just of the early 80s dark trilogy. Actually, I kind of consider Disintegration their ultimate masterpiece. And as regards concerts, 2000 may well have been their pick year. 8)

i'm a huge fan of The Cure, saw the Royal Albert Hall show on April 1st & it was killer! :)

quite a few Cure fans here, check out this thread:

http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=10279

i've seen 22 Cure shows since 1987 (not 23 as i'd originally thought damn those tequila shots) ~ they really are one of my favourite live bands ever!

I'm still a fan, despite the last couple of releases, but shouldn't someone have a quiet word with yer man Bob?

I really try hard not to care about his looks anymore. "The last couple of releases" made me even more of a fan. Bloodflowers, Trilogy and The Cure are just superb. :notworthy: 8)

Off all my cd's I can confidently say that Disintegration is the most played by a significant amount.

For what that's worth...

I think Robert Smith is a very talented, intelligent songwriter that unfortunately knows exactly what his fans want and seems content to rehash that as long as he has to in order to pay his bills. Sorta like Robert Frost, except writing songs instead.
If this is heaven I'm bailin' out.

With all due respect, this is utter bullsh!t. You could at least try to prove your point. As it stands, it only sounds like prejudice to me. :urff:

Oh and it's not Smith's talent and intelligence I have doubts about. Thank you. ;D

Let's just pick a very good one. 8)
Rob Smith is a great musician. It's just that at some point you really need to reinvent yourself if you don't want to look like a fool. Well, maybe he doesn't care... Even Peter Gabriel cut his hair when he realized he was getting kinda bold. :innocent:
