THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

The ultimate version of CN is on the Delicate sound of thunder live album. The guitar solo is just amazing and Dave Gilmour's vocals just beat the crap out of Roger Waters, who may be a great composer and lyricist but is also quite a poor musician and a very uncharismatic frontman.
IMHO this is CN, not the album version, not the movie version.
And the Girl' version doesn't add much to the picture. The bright move was to throw SKOS in the mix.
I'd end this moment to be with you
Through morphic oceans I'd lay here with you

I think it's more likely to have come from Hawkwind, they had a song called 'Kings of Speed' the b-side of which was 'Motorhead'

I stand corrected Rob, it was just me putting two and two together and getting five
interesting aside:
I tried to educate the MacHeartlanders in the Forres Taxi enroute to the recent Leeds gig with the remastered Deep Purple in Rock, I was humilated and chastised for my choice of music

Next time, turn the bastard up a notch and deal out some taste-inducing slaps!

The fact that that some of you are surprised, is, erm, surprising.
Nail well and truly bludgeoned on head, Mr Fakes.
In 1986, I couldn't differentiate between The Sisters, REM or Metallica. Still can't, other than one of the singers seems to have transmogrified into a right old pussy.

I used to have that on a mixtape but I put "Burn" over it, and just left the rest of the space blank. Actually, I think I might have put the Dead Kennedy's "Buzzbomb from Pasadena" on the space, too. I guess insofar as expressing the world-weary, prematurely aged and dead to the world concepts of the song, Gilmour's more effective at expressing that than Roger Waters. But when it comes to not causing listeners pain (in the ear area, that would be), I think Waters is miles ahead of Gilmour. Which isn't really that far up on the scale, honestly.

Just becuase I think REM is GAY doesn't mean Mr. Motz shouldn't
love and admire and or worship them...
As I stated in my original post it's just my lonely opinion.
Hell I even enjoyed a song or 2 by them, but that's all I can
stands and I can't stands no more....

You're entitled to your opinion on each and every artist under the Sun.
However, I doubt anyone would be best pleased if I called The Sisters n!ggers or slagged off The Mish because they're GINGER.
I'd rather not get into a debate about it, just a heads up for next time, mmkay? We are a broad church and the chances are, if you get bitchy about a particular sensitive characteristic, one in our number will be rubbed the wrong way

Actually, what I was saying was that being gay I take offense, or rather have a sense of frustration at your choice of adjective - not that I'm a fan of either of the two artists mentioned. I don't want to make a big deal of it, but abuse of the word irks me horribly.

Yes indeed
