I bought Floodland first and would recommend you do the same... not as downbeat as FALAA, not as 'rocky' as Vision thing, nicely in-between.
Gazza for England manager
welcome Pilly
that's a tricky question -- all Sisters official albums are good but different.
i became a fan after hearing Vision Thing but now it's my least favourite Sisters official album.
not bad but i just love Some Girls... and Floodland more.
but it could be absolutely vice versa for you...

willkommen pilly!
where to start eh? ooooh.....
depends - if you want that mid 80s goff sound get the first album: "first and last and always"
if you want something that has all the ones you know on and will better stand the test of time try "floodland"

What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
Not surprisingly I am with Dead Inside - buy them all !
That said - Some Girls Wander By Mistake would be an excellent start - just setting the mood !
@ Dead Inside - Hows it going Mate?

You could get the A Slight Case of Overbombing album. That way you would get a vide range of Sisters songs. Maybe not the best but a nice sample of all three studio albums.
However, as the others points out, to do them justice you should have them all. There are no bad songs on them, save for one and a half on Some Girls Wander.

Vision Thing if you like rawk.
Floodland is a great album.
First and Last and Always if you're a sad old goth.
SGWBM is great if you like your production raw.
ASCOOB if you just want a general idea of the more accessable songs.
My personal favourite is Vision Thing, but I suspect I'm in the minority.

Welcome Pilly,
If I where you I (though perhaps thank god I'm not) I'd buy all of them, both on shiny spinny things and the equally sexy black spinny things, get all the t-shirts while you're at it, the reptile house is always open for business....
Yours as always,

Hi Pilly. Nice to see you here.
I first heard "First and last and always" and fell directly for it. You will too!

I first heard Floodland when i was about 7. And thought "god why is my sister into this annoying depressing boring crap" but i was into pop at the time.
Then many years later (about 7), my sisters ex let me borrow Vision Thing, on vinyl and i was blown away. Especiall by ribbons "flowers on the razor wire, i know your here" sounds amazing on head phones. then i borrowed floodland and then first and last and always, and then all the singles.
Then i went and got the two compilations on cd, and started buying all the albums, then i began to hunt down bootlegs and stuff. And then in 1997 i thought it be a good idea to make 'The Fourth Floor' for a college project.
Thats far too much information..
ah well
Gary.
