Gary Marx (aka Mark Pearman)

Know the whereabouts of any ex-Sisters members or hangers-on? Got any amusing anecdotes about members of the band, past or present? Post 'em here...

Mark Pearman has been teaching songwriting at LIPA for the past three years, his background is in what is usually referred to as alternative guitar music although as he says:

' I never really saw what was alternative about connecting it to an amplifer and playing a combination of chords and single note phrases, but I don't make the rules.'

You'll find him equally animated whether talkng about Abba or Arab Strap, Beck or the Backstreet Boys.

'As a writer I've tried most things and I'm always looking for the next hurdle to saw through.'

If you'd like to hear clips from some of his songs click here.

There is a new Interview with Gary at the Open Your Arms-Homepage.

Interesting, especially this one:
I met Andrew around 1995 after close to ten years apart. We discussed working together again and I wrote an album's worth of songs for him - they still sit in the vault.

Das machte viele Leute sehr wütend und wurde allenthalben als Schritt in die falsche Richtung angesehen."

Um...as a Gary Marx song? OK. As a Sisters song? I really don't think so. :?
