New Tour

Hello,

So because the tour that never ends is finally ending, I thought it best to sort out some new gigs just make sure I'm still living out of a bag of dirty washing for that bit longer. Check the gigs thing for new solo acoustical type dates with Ginger from The Wildhearts/Sonic Circus/SilverGinger 5 etc etc.Should be a larf, we're off to Liverpool, Newcastle, Bristol, Southampton, London, Wolverhampton and Glasgow. Tragically I can't make the Nuneaton date cos I'm busy but yeah. If anyone has a floor to sleep on nearby any of these gigs please get in touch. Oh and I may see some of you on the Marky Ramone tour of Scotland towards the end of July. Come say hello.

Very good

Chris.

Gigs are Derby Rock N' Blues Fest on 28th July, Stockton Festival on the 3rd August and Certificate 18 in York on the 4th August, more later in the year. Thanks to lovely Simon Rix from the wondrous Kaiser Chiefs for lending me his bass cos mine is being fixed.

Hurrah. Come see hello at the gigs.

I'm going to be back in Leeds on December 9th, and it's my friend Nik's birthday. She's in the best band in the world ever (Bonsai Kittens). Turns out she's putting on a gig that night to celebrate, and has asked me to play, so I'm gonna do a bunch of acoustic covers, basically, cos it's Christmas and Christmas is funny. If you want to come, it's at the Brudenell Social Club in Hyde Park, and it's free in. Bonsai Kittens are playing too, and Galleons, who I don't know but Lovely Stu out of Send More Paramedics is in them so I assume they're bloody great. And we're going to get very pissed because it's Christmas and Christmas is drinky. Plus I've been away from Leeds for what seems like forever so it'll be nice to be home. (For a whole month!)

This message is a little garbled as I'm incredibly hungover today.

So to reiterate:

Saturday 9th December
Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
Bonsai Kittens, Galleons, The Chris Catalyst Ordeal

Oh and if anyone has any requests that'd be funny. Put 'em here and I'll learn them. In fact yeah do that.

New tour

Hot news. Ginger's asked me to come on tour with him again in January. It's such a chore hanging around with those people (especially that Poole man) but I need the money.

18/01/07: London Mean Fiddler

19/01/07: Nottingham Junktion 7

20/01/07: Blackpool Riffs

22/01/07: Glasgow Barfly

23/01/07: Bradford Rios

Only joking, it's going to be 568ml of fun in a cup that only holds 330ml. And the best thing is that THE GOD DAMN WHORES are on this tour as well, go hark at their genius:

www.myspace.com/goddamnwhores

This will probably be the last time I dust off the dodgy PVC because frankly I've got better things to do these days than be a pretend robot. So it'd be nice to see a few familiar faces there.

The AntiProduct tour was great. Nice to meet a lot of lovely people and work with a lot of lovely people. Except the keyboard-playing Mexican. She's wrong. Sells a mean orange, though.

While I'm here I'd like you to meet my two new heroes.

Little f**king Kev Yeah:

This is what the internet was made for.

Finally, thanks to everyone who I've worked with who have helped to make this such an amazing year for me. You know who you are.

I've realised a lot of dreams this year and seen a lot of stuff I feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed. 28 countries in one year... To paraphrase a great man... I need to get out less. Before the year is out I'll hopefully post my highlights on here, mainly just to remember the good bits (of which there were many) and also, basically, to show off. That's what My Space is about, isn't it?

Have a brilliant Christmas and best wishes for 2007.

Chris.

I'm looking for someone who can play low-slung noisy bass (with a pick rather than fingers, for the sound) really well. Think Ramones, Cardiacs, Wildhearts, all the usual nonsense. Big rock pop stuff. You've also gotta be able to sing loads of backing vocals and rock on stage. If you're able to play anything else that'd be nice. Silly stuff.

Oh and it'd be really helpful if you lived in or near Leeds and have halfway decent gear.

Get in touch if you think this is you. (This isn't for Robochrist, obviously, it's for a new thing I'm doing, which is already sounding amazing.)

Acoustic gig
Current mood: quixotic

Hello,

I've got an acoustic gig supporting the rather splendiferous Jon Gomm at the New Roscoe in Leeds on Wednesday (the 18th). Look him up - www.myspace.com/jongomm - and add him to your friends list thingy and make him even more popular than he already is. Even better, look him up on You Tube to find out why people liked him so much in the first place.

I'll be on at 8.30pm, and it's only four or five quid in. I'm doing a bunch of new songs, if you've already seen me do the same set 400,000 times and are bored to the back teeth of my old set. (Which, frankly, I am.)

Anyroad up, it'd be good to see some folk there, because with one thing and another I'm gonna be away a lot this Summer. In fact this is a fleeting visit to Leeds.

In other news, the new band I've set up is sounding awesome, and will have some demo-y type stuff on the web in a month or so.

Currently The Scaramanga Six are holed up in deepest, darkest Wiltshire with that Tim Smith - www.cardiacs.com - working on our new album. The old one is barely drying behind the ears, but we're plowing on regardless. Oh speaking of that new album - go to www.myspace.com/thescaramangasix and buy it. It's bloody ruddy marvellous. I'll be back here later in the year with that Ginger bloke out of them Wildhearts, we're working on some stuff together, but it's not really in the traditional sense of the word 'working'. Erm... stay tuned. And buy the new Wildhearts album. It's mint.

I'm working on Robochrist stuff slowly and steadily. When I can be arsed. (Not very often.)

AntiProduct are doing a bunch of stuff all over the shop this Summer, which will no doubt be the world of fun. www.myspace.com/antiproduct for dates, tunes and pictures of me with Jimmy Somerville's hair circa 1989. It's not like that any more. I thought I'd grow it and try look like Gene Vincent. It's come out more like Paul McKenna's if I'm honest.

And... that other band I'm in has a few gigs this Summer too. Hope to see some of you there. It will be nine pints of fun in a barrel which only holds one gallon.

All the best and keep smiling.

Chris.
