totally OT - New Model Army

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I have 2 old records from them, and they are pretty good.

I don`t know what they are up to now, but I guess you mean that they still make albums, and that they do bad music now. :???:

they seem to be quite busy with other projects: Justin Sulivan is currently promoting his solo album - with Dean White (kbds). Dave Blomberg from NMA has got 2 new bands: Nozzle www.nozzle.org.uk and Dance On Glass www.danceonglass.co.uk. Nelson has just released an album with KIP KEINO. Michael Dean (drums) is currently on tour with Justin Sullivan and also plays drums with Nozzle.

NMA, you got to love them. They winge and moan like true martyrs. Who else could get away with

"It was money we asked for, and money they gave
god how it made us easy to enslave"
lights go out

They could bitch for England and then some. Got every album upto Purity then they lost it, must have made to much money to continue being the champions of the terminal moaners.

Definetly a bunch of crusty old soap dodgers who want to try to work for a living? Only joking

I like them a whole lot.

The last few albums have seen the whinging cut down substantially. Ever since that incedent with the lighting rig on stage Justin's lyrics have taken on a more spiritual side.

They were at the Leeds gig on Saturday.
Saw em there in the crowd.

i saw NMA in 93 -- one of the best gigs i ever saw 8)
unfortunately Sullivan performed in my home town just the same evening when i was in Sis live in Berlin...
but i don't regret that i was in Berlin.
this was evidently the best gig i ever seen 8)

First saw NMA in 1983 - the same year I first saw the Sisters .

Both have changed beyond recognition . Saw NMA last year as well as Justin`s solo show .They are ok I suppose but they have lost all the oomph that made them what they were in the early days . Most of what they do now is ballad/busking type stuff .

I have to admit that they've played some of the best gigs I've ever been to but they're still a bunch of crusty old soap dodgers (but then so am I - my clothes were white when I put them on.)
Have Fun!
