Actually that wouldn't have helped, I've been doing the same searches since Monday and nothing. So, now they are finally up and I too am "starting" to believe. However, I see us Yanks don't get the low price, we get to spend 45 bucks on imports.

Still will though.

Ok, now I am back to being paranoid again. If you view the US Amazon links, in small print it says "this page created by seller" which means it was not set up by the webmasters at Amazon. Once I logged in it gave me the chance to "update" the info on the page which I did not in case I got busted for something - dunno. So, it IS possible to get phony things posted on Amazon.

Sigh.

And checked the WEA Int'l site but everything for that particular label just redirects itself back to the wmg.com site.

Let me just take my St. John's Wort and wait for the voices to stop.....

I think this just means someone is selling it on amazon.com for amazon.co.uk, so amazon pay the seller something for selling it.

This might be all about it...

Then again I could easily have got the wrong end of the stick.

I've bought stuff off of a French seller before and it all worked out ok...

Well, yes, someone is selling it on Amazon. According to the post WEA Int'l is selling it. However, for their other releases, there is no need for them to create their own page because Amazon would do it, like the current releases of Sisters lusted on Amazon. Being Warner Music Group, you'd think they'd be a big enough company not to need an indie guy to sell their stuff on Amazon. And those album descriptions still read to me like they were written by a hoaxer and NOT the publicity department of a large musical conglomerate.

But, off-topic, the ONE time I tried ordering something through the Amazon Marketplace with private sellers, it was a big hassle. Seller never shipped it. Amazon wouldn't take a complaint for 60 days. The one good thing though, after I reported it to Amazon (finally) the seller sent me the item and then the next day Amazon refunded my money so I got it for free. Neener.

the cheapest deal we're getting (so far) is Â£21, so it's hardly a big difference.

All of Merciful Release is now owned by WEA. Well, the Sisters stuff at least. I'm not sure about releases by Salvation, March Violets and La Costa Rasa.

That said, I'm pretty sure James Ray owns the copyright to all his songs, MR-released ones included, so maybe it is just the Sisters' songs.

Really? I was under the impression that the "indie" singles were now in WEA's possession, as of 1992, and the WEA-released material still belonged to the label (hence the constant inclusion of the songs on "goth" compilations).

So who exactly owns what?

That doesn't necessarily mean anything, though. The writing is rather crap, but there *are* large companies that act as sellers on Amazon. They also sometimes make their own pages, if need be. I could link you to examples, but they'd be girly make-up examples.

Just do some searching around for different products in different areas.

Amazon has always been pretty good, at least to me. I once ordered a CD (Ministry, I think it was), and they found out they didn't actually have it in stock--so they put my money back on "store credit" for me to use at another time. I never by from small sellers on there, though; for used stuff I hit up book sales and abebooks.com

Also, as Robertzombie pointed out--I've been following the different sites that put the releases online, and Amazon isn't charging that much more money. I'm actually quite surprised that they *aren't* charging more. When I bought imports in the past from Amazon, I had to pay $25 for the likes of "Gift" and "Some Girls..." They'd have been at least $10 less if they weren't from overseas.

i'm pretty sure the March Violets came to some agreement with Merciful Release to get the rights their stuff just after they [arted ways, hence old MR tracks appearing on the 1984 Natural History album/compilation (on their own Rebirth label), and on the Jungle compilation Botanic Verses

Salvation - in theory Von still owns the rights to the Girlsoul single and the unreleased mini-album (wherever those darned masters are!). the compilation cd included girlsoul without eldritch's consent, but i dont think he was that bothered as him and the band are old friends, and i doubt he had any plans for the track himself

i dont know anything about la costa rasa, other than that their Autopilot album is very strange and i'm not sure if i like it

Get a copy of "last of the baby boomers" much rougher sounding and includes a couple of tracks not on Autopilot, mighty fine recording it'll grow on you.

I'm highly amused that by pure chance I am in Leeds the day these remasters are released.

Normally I'm 4000 miles away in Chicago, but I have to go to Jumbo records to pick up my Hawkwind tickets for the gig that night.

The last gig I saw in Leeds was the 10th Anniversary Sisters gig at Leeds Uni Refec in Feb 1991
