Which band/singer is better than the Sisters?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I went the other way. Loved Ramrod and the b-sides, got tired of them, and wasn't interested in the rest of the stuff.

Oh well.

Didn't read anything past page 2.

Queen were better than the sisters. But that is because Queen were better than everyone. Still are.
Although, they were too different, many many bands do what the sisters do, none do it better. Although Rosetta came damn near.

Because I read page 1 I know that Dark thinks Manowar are better than the sisters. You can leave your coat, just stand up against the wall! Manowar arn't even the best power/battle/fantasy/ludicrous metal band.
Nationalise the f**king lot.

Spacemen 3 before Sonic's ego went a bit iffy were easily miles better.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Doesn't mean they're any worse. I'd take Mountains over SKOS or Carry On over I Was Wrong.

I disagree with a few of the ones here, but they're opinions. So please respect mine.

Don't get me wrong. I respect your right to your opinion, even more so, I respect your right to express it.

But I still disagree with it.

Yes man, The Jesus and Mary Chain are cool. Saw them in 86. The concert lasted about 20 minutes. But it was really cool....

I saw them round about then (Barras), and if ever there was a band going through the motions, they were it. Lasted an hour and a half to. :|

I can honestly say I can't think of any band or singer that I prefer to The Sisters.

I can think of many, but that's not the point. Otherwise I just wouldn't be here.

david gilmore is good at what he does, but andrew cant sing and play guitar at the same time, so i will not make comparisons. i like dido, but until i hear her sing a sisters song, or the sisters sing her stuff, once again, no contest.
Not as good as Motorhead, but better than The Birthday Party, which makes us pretty damn good.
