Have I just entered a parallel universe or...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

... did I just see on the news that Morrissey is being tipped to represent the UK in Eurovision this year!?

I s**t you not. I was on the phone, with the TV sound turned down, and I saw this headline - on the Beeb no less! Sophie Jolly-Hockey-Sticks Rayworth's telling me so it must be true.

I then looked out of my window to see the hot snow falling up...

Read about it too. It made the news here, go figure. Apparently, he offered to go himself after the last catastrophic UK entry (isn't that a double negative with Eurovision? ;D)...

Actually, the whole thing was so hilarious it entertained the hell out of me and my gay friends. We were in stitches. Too bad our own entry didn't do the whole 'controversial knee wiggle', which would have had the whole of Europe in tears of laughter, I'm sure.
And yes, Stefan, Pas de Deux rocked the whole thing, mhehe. Don't forget Telex either, though. (Marc Moulin rocks!) ;)

Blimey. Eurovision? Surely Lordi proved that the whole thing is just a bad joke anyway?

except that I think Marc Moulin kinda lost it years ago...

Them winning was so much a case in point. My friends texted three times to make sure they won. And the whole heavy metal community got in gear to text Lordi to the winning position. What better illustration of Eurovision being a travesty than that? Which still begs the question why Mozzer would consider even doing a *shudder* qualifying show in order to go?

Just heard some tracks of his latest on StuBru last night and although it isn't anything like the old stuff at all, I like it.

Good for you! Put on your dancing shoes! ;D

When he released 'Into The Dark' some years ago, I really had to look the other way... All in my opinion of course.

I did like the old Sam Suffy album very much.

Yeah at least he's a proper musician (well I know only some people might agree with that!)

And I won a grand down the bookies on them. Haven't mentioned that in a good while... ;D

I could well believe Moz doing it, the irony of being involved in a tacky show like that would probably appeal to him.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

'twas on local radio as well. Why, I cannot establish - we're a long way from the Land of Lard.

I'm sure there'll be a rational explanation.

I think it would be hilariously fantastic for Morrissey to enter the ESC but we need to think about the [many] con's of doing this...

He could lose, if so his reputation as a respected musician would be diminished, he'd open himself up to the entire media and just become even more of a punchbag, and he's not even likely to make it past the qualifying stages because the British public don't know what decent music is and we'd end up with some brainless chav "representing" us again...

Although if Morrissey did get through qualifying stages, and had the whole country behind him (plus the many fans across the whole of Europe) then I think, not only would be in with a chance of winning but Moz would be almost guaranteed his first Number 1! :D

After all, he is the number 1 MUSIC ICON in the whole of Britain (if you go by the culture shows results).
