ive decided its time to put my disgusting mug up for abuse but am having trouble 'uploading' the image
im a complete technophobic luddite so i need it explained in simple terms.
the problem is that when i try to upload the picture it rejects it sayng invalid width & height! the 'file' is apparently 705kb (??!!**??) whereas it says the limit is set @ 1500kb?
any help, comments or suggestion or is it that the hideous filter is working effectivly??!!

'invalid width & height' is just a polite way of saying "you really are too hideous for The Gallery"

Just change the piccy size to an acceptable level-Paint/Photaeshop or some other picture software-or you just might be too ugly (as previously stated)

the filesize may be ok, but the image's dimensions are too large

it has to be less than 1000x1000 pixels

400x400 would be plenty big enough for a personal photo ;)

images on a computer have 2 types of size

1) the image dimensions

ie: how big it looks on screen

its like the equiv of being a tiny passport-sized image as opposed to a huge poster sized version

and

2) the filesize

ie: how much room it takes up on your harddrive

it sounds like what you are trying to upload is like a poster sized image, rather than a passport-sized or even standard 6"x4" photo-sized image :)

as herr blast says, you will need some kind of image software (photoshop, paintshop pro, whatever!) to shrink it down to a size more appropriate for showing on-screen :)
