I noticed that the sisters concerts don't last very long. It's usually up to 80 min + / -.
Looking into some bootlegs, it looks it was always like that.
Any idea why?
duration of TSOM concerts?

Cos Uncle Eldo likes to p*ss us off. 80' of music don't fit onto one CD, so you have to use another just for 2 or 3 tracks. Bastard. And he won't play for 100'-120' because he doesn't want us to be satisfied. Double bastard.

general opinion is that on the last tour the booking fees were quite high, so promotors wouldn't book them... as a work around, eldritch offered promotors two pricing options: a full set, or a shorter set that was cheaper.
hence some silver bullet shows were significantly longer than others.

no matter how long the sisters are on stage....
it will never be long enough. (
Closes eyes, remembers last gig attended, starts humming tunelessly)

Even in 84/85 it was the same. Some concerts would barely make the one hour mark. Nothing dramatically new about it, and it's not specifically the Sisters either - a lot of other "not goth but with a goth following although we daren't even acknowledge that" bands did similar.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

its the punk ethos about getting on stage, doing what needs to be done, and then getting off before people start throwing things
(which itself was probably a backlash against 3hr long prog rock gigs )

btw listened to their lastest March gig in US
really good one
It's a miracle that the really early concerts even made it past the 2 minute mark, never mind half an hour, isn't it?Quiff Boy wrote:its the punk ethos about getting on stage, doing what needs to be done, and then getting off before people start throwing things

I wouldn't want to see them for much longer. And certainly not 3 hours of The Cure. Screw the 45-minute version, I'd get bored of A Forest after 7.
And if he plays for 80 minutes, use a good old C90.

Anyone remember the good old JAMC first few gigs/riots?
Music was around 15 mins tops (but rioting 45mins)

The other day I saw on TV some cult conceptual artist from Japan who went on stage for a 10-15 seconds screaming performance. I personally thought it was utter cack, but the guy apparently has some devoted fans.

yeah, seems to be Masonna
that reminds me the words of my brother back in the early 90s. Some Girls had just came out, I was listening to this cassette (can't remember if it was Polish bootleg cassette or the original which I got a bit later) as I used to do every day and my brother was visiting me. and his words were something like that: "well, actually it's nice that those punk bands have such a short songs."Quiff Boy wrote:its the punk ethos about getting on stage, doing what needs to be done, and then getting off before people start throwing things
