artist it says here-The House Of Usher,or at least for this one track playing at the moment-its Adrenochrome by the way.
anyway, ive not come across it before(the "tribute album that is),altho the title Monochrome rings a far off bell somewhere.its the Usher thing thats thrown me.through all my searches of the remixes and covers etc,the house of usher has never come up,and the only usher i know of is some m.o.r,mtv rap artist.
so,wondering if anyones got this album of covers for a start, and what i'd have to do i order to own copies either cd or file share.please??

You know you're something special,
And you look like you're the best
And you look like you're the best
Monochrome is both a bootleg album and a cd of early stuff
some nice guy, posted the catalogue numbers to all of the tribute albums way back when
you should find them after a quick search on
monochrome, first and last and forever etc
btw - jim thirlwell doesn't like the sisters, he downloaded the first track he could find on the web.........and covered that

Just remember this. This rabble you keep talking about does most of the working, paying and dying in this community.

I have one House Of Usher CD, the only time I've ever seen anything by them. Bought it purely out of interest, without a clue what to expect - they could have been death metal for all I knew.
The music is good, if a little derivative. Very Sisters 84 ish, with a good bit of Catastrophe Ballet-era Christian Death mixed in. The vocals are a complete Ian Curtis rip-off. The whole thing however is done with far more energy and enthusiasm than your usual rip-off merchants, so I'll give it a thumbs up.
The very idea of anyone covering Adrenochrome is weird - it's like someone doing a version of Hey Hey We're The Monkees really, isn't it?

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
from what ive heard of house of usher they sound v good. i have to agree with mh- it is very curtis ripped but much better than certain other bands that appear on sisters of mercy tribute albums
i heard that house fo usher also covered wasteland or something, is this true?

ive heard all the mp3's off the official site

hey many thanx for the info and links.plenty to be going on with.
just remebered where id come across the monochrome cd,had been in the running for ebay auction a while ago for it.
memory like seive.and bad spelling to match.
first port of call, house of usher then
Temple of rarieties anyone??
took someone on their word not too long ago and agreed a trade for their copy of temple'.i sent the requested tunes to someone at my own expense, and didnt get the promised copy of temple.
apart from being annoyed,im without the music i sought.
suggestions etc

i think Serendipityhaven was asking if anyone can provide her with a copy, as her trade went pear-shaped...pikkrong wrote:i've got this one, too.
