Zottegem: The Aftermath

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Don't worry Stef. At least you have another reason to use a lot of emoticons in your post...

Now that you mention it. Where is Ozpat in that movie? Probably getting drunk... ;D
hmmm Ozpat, could it be that we were having a bit of whisky/coke by that time? I'm not starring in that movie either :? ;D

**Indeed and thank you Elise! As some of us know around here, just ask and you shall receive...

Good morning / almost noon everyone!

WOOHOO! I didn’t get drunk nor was I on drugs & this GIG f**king ROCKED! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I’ll start this story from when we arrived around 3pm, stunning weather in Zottegem & walking onto the terrain, I’ve never seen so many people walking around with Sister’s t-shirts on! ! :notworthy:

Seeing so many heartlander’s together was bliss & it was marvellous to see friends again & have a chat & to meet new faces where a username becomes a person. It made the afternoon fly by with such a warm feeling. 8)
The boys really started to get excited around midnight & Koen needed me to be by his side for a very long while!

Jamming into the crowd to get nearer to the front was catty at one or two moments, but with stefan moermans, radiokoen, christophe, zeno, Christian all near the moshpit and near me, made the wild crowd manageable. Man did I get gooseflesh with all the fans singing along & that vibe within the crowd was amazing! Whoohoo to getting down and partying everyone! :notworthy:

When I could see Von it looked as though he was enjoying himself & I think Chris had something ow to do with his back as he was not as active jumping around like I’ve seen him do before. Ben, fantastic as always, shaking those curls & ooo those muscles :D

It was a blast and I definately did a dance for you Andie  to Crash & Burn and most of the other songs too.. ! :innocent:
We all cheered, we all screamed, all the boys were falling on the floor in the moshpit & with love pulled up again, the boys were all showing their bare chests *sigh – phew* and we all showed our appreciation at the end almost bringing that tent down with a thank-you! It was indeed an amazing gig!

It was a pleasure to be there and huge thanks to christophe for looking after me and to all you darling people who I saw again. :notworthy:

Phew, me thinks it will take a week or so before this high settles down again and zillion thanks for all the photos and music shared here. :notworthy: :notworthy:

Hi people!

Just a few words quickly between 2 cries of baby to say that I and Tuco have had a wonderful day with all of you we met. Thanks Eldo and Ben/Chris to give us a great show too. Meeting cool people and see a great gig with Andrew in good mood, that's paradise on earth!
After the gig we see Ben just in Front of us near the VIP area. I said Tuco :have you a pen? He said to me : have you your photocamera? We were both searching materials but it takes too long time because we realize suddently that Ben was left. Morality : the beer was too good...
Tuco has made a recording of the show, the encore is missing, we hear Tuco falling on the ground but hey... the sound was great! He have to contact me when he could put it on the net. You 'll be warned.

Time for a bit of a review.... :D

As my mate with the Benz was occupied with some duties I had to travel by myself. Arrived in Antwerp past 4 pm where I parked my car in Joery + Liesbeth's street who were at a wedding at that time and where I would spend the night. Thanks for that guys. :notworthy: Koen picked me up after 5 pm with his car with a broadcast of Radio Jamaica. Thanks Koen! :notworthy:
Nice and smooth ride, relaxing music and good talks. After arrival we parked the car just in front of the festival area next to Elise's Benz.

After finishing a whisky cola with the Koen we were ready to rock. I did not see one band before the Girls but I had a fecking great time. Got two of the tour shirts just before they sold out. Enjoying drinks (great cold Belgian beer for a good price). It was great to see and talk to old friends again. MB, Z, C, Eva, Paul & Donna. and meet new ones.
Tidal, Elise, Raf, Diego, Frederik, Stef, Sentenza, Eggi....it was great to meet you...and your husbands and/or friends and/or brothers and/or fathers. :D
Sorry if I forgot to mention a name...
Other non HL people whose names I don't know....nice meeting you as well...

When the gig started I managed to make it to the second row, right in front of Von. The smoke did not bother me at all. After spending half a day in hospital on Friday doubting wether I was going to make it to Zottekop I might have enjoyed it even more. What a great gig! Good sound, good voice, fabulous crowd. On The Wire (you were right Koen  ) was my fav one that night next to Summer and Suzanne.
The last 3 songs I was joined by Liesbeth who surprised us with an unexpected appearance at the gig to show up with Joery! Great that you made it guys! :notworthy: :D

After the show I had some more drinks and noticed I did get a bit drunk but I was not the only one hey Koen?!
Saying goodbye to friends and travelling back to Antwerp would be the last actions of that day I guessed at the time. I was wrong....

A bottle of whisky was emptied by Liesbeth, Joery and myself and after having breakfast around noon I went to bed for a few hours. Hard to sleep with all the wonderfoul thoughts and experiences in my head....

Great day out! 8)

Thank you all and thank you Girls...

Well again I have to say that it was a wonderful concert, from the front row you could see behind Von's sunglasses that he was really into the music that night. My girlfriend who saw the Sisters for the first time was really enthusiastic and enjoyed Andrew's charisma.
It really moved a lot and I had some difficulties to take some good pictures, I have to say that some drunk people were a little bit annoying, sometimes you have some desires of murder, because those drunk people also sing completly false and don't let us hear Von's voice ;)

I have uploaded on YouTube (shoudl be available in a few hours) an excerpt of Temple Of Love, I had to stop because it was starting too move too much ;)

And here are again a few photos I took at the show, enjoy :)
