Other music obsessions

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Do you think I will have trouble in making two things at the same time?, do you have problems with Miss Nick O´Tine being here and in "the other board" at the same time ?.
Just ignore him, he doesn't wear pants and he's known as Judas in his spare time  :D

In answer to t'original question...

My boat is especially floated, in no particular order, by:

Sex Pistols
Bauhaus
Kraftwerk
JAMC (up to the late 90s when it just went horribly wrong)
Nephilim
David Sylvian
Japan
Bark Psychosis
Joy Division
New Order
Talk Talk
Frankie Goes To Hollywood
A-ha (oh yeah)
The Fall (in the right mood)
The...ahem...M*****n
The Beatles
Velvet Underground
Gorecki (honestly not trying to be pretentious here...pls believe me)
Pil (1978-1987, after that they should've ditched the singer)
The Cure

And finally, I find myself championing The Smiths: After just not 'getting' them for nearly 20 years I have finally discovered them...and am very pleased in a Cheshire Cat sort of way for finally managing it! Wahey...

There are more...but I can't remember 'em! :notworthy: :notworthy: :innocent:

However, Mr Sylvian's latest work is a bit on the...unlistenable side, sadly...Come back Rain Tree Crow, all is forgiven!!

Anyway, before I get shouted at for being Off Topic...I'll get me coat... :notworthy: :notworthy: :innocent: :innocent:

hmm, bands that I've been known to take a serious interest in would include:
New Model Army
The Smiths/ Some Moz solo stuff
Carter USM
Placebo
Iron Maiden
Max Normal
No Friends Of Harry
Depeche Mode
PWEI
JAMC
and more recently BRMC

None of them have come close to the Sisters though...

Ah, the eighties - great days.

I can remember being heavily into such luminaries as "he-man", "transformers", "thundercats" and a group that I believe has made a recent come-back of dubious merit "star wars figures".

Now that was living.

That's at least two mentions of A-ha. If we're talking about bands we USED to be really into, I make three. A-ha, and also the Pet Shop Boys. And even EARLY Depeche Mode. But I was but a mere slip of a lad then, and still at Middle School. Pal Waktaar, what a fine lyricist...and Morten Harket, what a falsetto...and those cheekbones...

Hmmm, reading this message back, I feel a need to reassert my masculinity...I'm going to go and pick up something heavy, and drop it a couple of times.
