Sisters played Suikerrock

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

In my opinion the scabs are the most borin band on earth. They have to win the "boooooring award". Mostly the Song structure was: REF/STROPHE/REF/REF/REF/REF/REF/REF/REF/REF, wasn't it? Boooooooring!

Nope, maybe they play their kind of music well, I didn't pay that much attention. I was questioning what kind of gig it was when I saw the hyperactive ape that sings.

Let's face it only about 8 people clapped them off.

I loved the set as well C.
I liked them as well, the Scabs are your average rock'n'roll oldies, ideal for a warm festival evening somewhere nice, holding a beer and smiling. Although the 'Robbing a Liquor Store'- Long Version was sooo rock-cliché it almost made me gag (left vs right? That's sooo Neil Diamond!)...

IZ.
either you like them or you don't I guess. You have to see them as a big act in Belgium in the 90's. So for many people it's a nostalgic thing hearing those songs after so many years being performed by the band.

It's a bit like reliving the past.. nothing more.. mothing less. Maybe the singing from left to right was a bit over the top but the crowd enjoyed it and went along with it.

And again... being a band before the sister is maybe a hard job. Did you noticed that he actually shouted to "enjoy the sisters of mercy". So that was a real sport. He must have known that he was like supporting act for them 8)

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

it looks that the sisters are going closer to slayer with all that support acts. nobody wants to play before slayer because their fans are a little orthodox

Back in 1992 Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds were playing the slot before The Sisters and I have to admit: I was so excited for what was coming later on that I wasn't very interested in Cave. Unbelievable, I know :?
The Sisters did play a brilliant gig that night ;D

Aye, and Von'll have released a new record which will shoot straight to number one in 27 countries. I think we're entering the realms of gross improbability now, don't you?

Better late than never...

Bloody hell what a gig! :notworthy: Now that was the last thing I was expecting, but hats off to :von: and the incomparable Mr Catalyst (we'll tactfully brush over the 'noises' coming from far side of the stage). Great gig, great company, and outstanding nighttime sesh in Louie's garden. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

So, Stage X of the Masterplan is clear to all. A gig a year in Belgium will do all parties very nicely indeed I think. 8)

Oh and the Glitter Band cover is pure thumping Sisters at their finest, just as it was in 2001, but the jaw-drop factor was considerably greater this time round.
