Sisters live in Burgas, Bulgaria, Fri 15 August ?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Splendid - suncream, sisters, sand and the black sea.

Will be nice to tick Bulgaria off on the list of places I had not contemplated going to until the Sisters played there.

it's getting easier these days for Eldo to headline. Just hook up with the festivals that program 1 band a day... If it was for the Lowlands Festival, the Sisters would be in the midnight tent between Vader Abraham and a dodgy karaoke act.

OK, right...
It will be difficult enough to get Thursday off work for me, not to mention Wednesday, which means I might have to try to overcome my phobia of flying. :urff:
*edit to add more questions*
Dear local people can you please tell me
1. whether you can pay with Euro in Bulgaria, or just your own local currency?
2. where would you recommend to stay, a hotel or private guesthouse (apparently there are plenty of them there), or is it worth camping (have you been to this festival before, how's it like - showers, security matters for a lady arriving on her own, etc), and what are the average prices for a night more or less?
3. is the festival far from the centre of Bourgas?
4. any other vital tips for someone who hasn't been to Bulgaria since 22 years ago? :D

I know I could check it all on google but it's just easier asking here. ;D  :notworthy:

dear emma,
:)
1. you can pay in euro for a good restaurant or a hotel with credit card.
otherwise you can change money in the city:)
2. private guesthouse or a small hotel its a good idea.
i will tell you tomorrow more.
camp places are outside the city..not so good
3. the festival is at central beach, so its very close to city center:) 10 minutes or so...
4. relax, prepare to drink more and enjoy:) and please, don't talk to strangers, when you change money!
5. you will have a guide:)

welcome:)

I'd better change my zlotys into Levs here in Poland then before I go, because I don't own a credit card with which I could pay in euro for good hotels, my dear fellow from the post-communist area.

Dear God and Angels and Jesus and His Mother , Full Moon over the Black Sea and The Sisters playing on the beach. This sounds too good too be true. My birthday is on the 19th and I swear I don't need any other gifts from anyone this year.
you will have a guide:)

Hey there! I am from Bulgaria and I'm definitely going. It's going to be a great show, can't wait for it!

We could organize something like a meeting before the show, would be cool.

Yep, a pre-gig meeting would be nice, but not too far away from the venue. Some people have to head off early for front row space... ;D

Well, it's easier if you look out for a tall woman with red hair and a Sisters t-shirt. 8) As for front row, I prefer the center-right position, between Von and Chris, and I want a proper moshpit behind me... :D

I don't understand these moshpits. What's the point of pushing somebody without trying to do some actual damage?
However, the moshpit at Nick Cave's gig in Greece was funny as s**t!

I usually like to position myself some 20m away from the stage so the front row is all yours.

From the supporting bands, Gravity Co are not at all bad though they're newer stuff is 100% Depeche Mode rip-off.

Are the sisters actually playing? Chris is playing in leeds on the 16th and Ben is doing bit of a tour around the UK.

I've noticed that, too. But I don't doubt that they're playing, cause it is feasible: They'll catch a direct flight home and gain two hours because Bulgaria is 2 hours ahead of Britain.
