Cheerful Sisters songs?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I lent Floodland to my bestfriend last week and she said: "I like it, but it`s a little bit depressing". so I was thinking what sisters songs are REALLY positiv/cheerful?

Cheerful to these ears?? Let's see...YCBTO, This Corrosion, More, Vision Thing for originals. All of these, in different ways, cheer me up. As for covers...Gimme Gimme Gimme, He's Got the Whole World, Jolene, Didn't Know I Loved You, Sugar Baby Love, I Wanna be Sedated and Bei Mir Bist Du Schon (don't understand the lyrics but the music is cool!) There are others but that's because even a depressing song can perk me up because I have a positive memory to go with it.

mh. well to me most of the songs are not depressing (depends on the mood) and lots of them have energetic/exhilarating tunes - but the lyrics have something dark to them. but since my friend doesn’t understand English too good she probably won’t notice anyway

First and Last and Always
It almost sounds like some kind of folklore song :D

Good Things 2008 seemed a pretty cheerful affair, judging by the crowds' reaction... ;D

Lucretia's on the up. Top Nite Out is proper Birdy Song.

Oh come on, how can she not hear pure contentment in Flood II, Colours and, obviously, This Corrosion?
Floodland is what drove me out of my first proper big depression. :?

Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

The Damage Done has a surprisingly upbeat tune and, as has already been mentioned, YCBTO is comedy genius.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.
