Hi Friends,
Today I’m curious about bootlegs of the 13 April 1984 concert at Danceteria in New York.
If the bootleg sleeves are accurate, Gimme Gimme Gimme / Sister Ray have found their way onto many bootlegs, often as a filler and Floorshow can be found on “The Acid Rain bootleg (at the end of side 1, possibly also a filler?)
According to the legendary Blackplanet website, GGG/SR from this gig were available on one of the earliest bootleg singles

The Acid Rain’s sleeve says it is from 1987, so it seems these 3 tracks have been around for a while.
Are there any other tracks, or a complete recording, known to exist? Any other info about this elusive recording would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
James

James hi
Pretty sure i have this single. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it has an intro from NASA on one side and from a Russian Cosmonaut on the other. Nice intro. Think HL2 ? mentions it in more depth
Problem is i'm at work and really can't remember for sure.
I was given the three tracks together on a tape in about 1989. The tape was called Sisters Rarities and contained longtrain, purplehaze etc and two copies of SKOS. I thought it was along the same lines as Victims i.e came from Leeds but can't be sure ?
hope this helps

Just remember this. This rabble you keep talking about does most of the working, paying and dying in this community.

is this the danceteria gig that they mention in that interview where the annoying whinning woman starts with "i'm here with aaaandy from the sisters of mercy...", and von talks about the release of body and soul "...sometime around the end of may"?
What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?

Incidentally, the female interviewer is called Anne Clark. I was once looking in the bargain bin in a record shop and saw a cd by "Anne Clark". I knew it wasn't the same person but I bought it anyway cos it was only a cd single for a quid and I like taking a chance and buying stuff on a whim cos I like the sleeve or the name or whatever (and I've yet to be disappointed by a purchase). I liked it and bought more of her stuff, and discovered that she's from the UK but relatively unknown here, but she's really big in Germany.
Thanks Dan That's exactly what I wanted to know. Although not the exact answer I wanted to hear.Dan wrote:I've never known anyone with a full recording, not even one of those mega-rare-won't-swap type of people.
If someone has it they're keeping really quiet about it
I thought the radio station was WYNU, that's what I hear?Dan wrote:Yeh, WRMU FM, New York, 13.4.84, same day as the gig in question.
Just for the completists, that's not the start of the interview. The common 7"s don't have the complete Ann Clarke Interview, they only have the second half.Quiff Boy wrote:where the annoying whinning woman starts with "i'm here with aaaandy from the sisters of mercy...", and von talks about the release of body and soul "...sometime around the end of may"?

Excluding songs, there is another 10 minutes before "I'm here with Andy..."
Not likely to be the same interviewer, but it's a great site anyway
