just booked the travelodge... bargain! £19 :D
The price has gone down! :? Bastards!
Had to book a "Saver Room" to get that price. You can cancel the room or move the dates, just no refunds.

It's a fairly compact city centre - everywhere's within no more than about 15 minutes walk of everywhere else. :D

I only ever tend to go to Leeds for gigs at Rio's (although I've been to Joseph Wells and the Met Uni) but the travelodge is round the corner from Rio's and I'd guess ten minutes tops walk from the Academy.Play with Google Earth, all will become clear.

The Saver Rooms were £29 when I booked one, which is still not bad for a double ensuite. As the price had gone up after I booked, it was a bit of a shock to see it go down again! Mind you, I got lucky when the same happened with my Stockholm flights before I booked them, so I shouldn't really moan

They don't seem to have any single rooms :( Just twins. I guess I'll have to push the beds together and sprawl out.

Hey, the number of hotel rooms in Leeds must be way more than they could ever fill in the current economic climate. Don't fret.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

I guess it's about time I braved the crowds and visited Jumbo Records...

I am NOT inmpressed at having to fork out £44 on a room at the Vicar Lane travelodge  AND that was supposed to be a saver room. Only £1 less than the normal rate. But I needed to book while I have the money so I've had to lump it.

FWIW, my tattooist Chris (Custom Tattoos, Meanwood) is/was an avid Sisters/Mish/Nephilim/NIN fan. He's coming along to the Academy, I'll introduce you to him.

Slipped him several CDs of bootlegs etc. - always pays to keep the right side of someone who will permanently alter your skin

Belated greetings all, I've finally booked my hotel for Leeds (the Travel-lodge which seems to be a theme reading back through this thread).

Hope to see some of you there!

For those that have not yet picked up tickets for Leeds

If you want to avoid paying booking fees from Jumbo or Crash (or booking fee and 'rip off putting it in an envelope with a 1st class stamp' tax from the onlines), you can pick up tickets directly from any O2 Academy box office for £18 face value if you pay cash.

The box offices are -
o2 academy birmingham,
o2 academy bristol
o2 academy brixton
o2 academy glasgow
o2 academy islington
o2 academy leeds
o2 academy liverpool
o2 academy newcastle
o2 academy oxford
o2 academy sheffield
o2 shepherds bushempire

I assume the London tickets can be picked up the same way.

According to the 2 tickets I've just picked up from Sheffield o2, support act is Goldblade.
