Got any interesting thoughts on a set of lyrics? Any that don't involve the word "indeed"? Find yourself struggling to decipher all those obtuse references Von makes? Read "1959 And All That" and still no clearer? Nope, us neither. Postcards found lying in a skip around the back of the Chemists can be found here... Don't say you weren't warned.

His lips didn't form an "m" shape - looked more like an "n". Could be "Sunday" as previously suggested or "sun" something etc but not, I think, "some day".
Glad I wasn't the only one
There were definitely too many syllables for a "wraith room", too
i think i must hire a lip reader to solve the mystery in the gigs both for Athens and Thessaloniki

I got right down the front for the London gig and considering the high level of smoke aside from Chris' sideburns I could barely make him out let alone read his lips
I had a face on the mirror
I had a hand on the gun
I had a place in the sun and a ticket to Syria
The Athens gig tomorrow has an advantage than the previous events
The place there has very good atmosphere air pipes and machine refreshes real good, so it is almost impossible to fill it with lots of smoke clouds for many nanoseconds
So, i call all the heartlanders to have their mind to read the lips as best as possible. They will not have another good chance like the one tomorrow

wonder who that might be?
is it just me or does anyone else feel like we're all a part of a mad social experiment devised and executed by none other than the intellectual love god himself?

Well my mum, having watched some snippets of gigs on youtube, thinks I'm in a sect of some sort, because it "can't be about the music, no way".

she does have a point. it is not just about the music when it comes to the sisters. not to me anyway.
I am rather confident now that Arms is about a paparazzo
Who "lives through a lense" (from photographs), either in the rape room (pr0n photography) or the Mercedes Benz (His car where he waits for celebrities to make him some money) in the first verse.
Edited twice for the removal of typos. I'll sentence myself to go to bed now, no more reading under the sheet.

Maybe she is planning to get together with my wife to try to deprogramme us

I just got it knocked on my head by Moakahontas:
Think of Janice Joblin's "Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz".
The Mercedes Benz as symbol of greed.
Could have been a Jaguar or Porsche as well, but like that we have the Joblin lyrics as refference?

I get something about the current state of the world in inspiring control by fear (which is not so new) of everything. We are guided to be affraid of other cultures, other people, affraid of leaving our home, affraid of losing our jobs, affraid of not having money, even of food. (credits were they belong, I got that from a speech of Mia Couto, and there's also the line "Weapons are affraid of the lack of wars")
Through the lens sounds to me more like living your life through what you are shown in television.
And locked and loaded with the hammer drawn, as in everybody already has a strong judgement over everything, but it's a judgement created by the mass media.
Oh, and then "Come feel the arms around you" would be the voice of the government claiming to be protective of it's people, and/or stating it in a classic ironic way.
