Wedding music....

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hi all,

I'm getting married in a couple of months, and my lovely fiancee needs some music to shuffle down the aisle to... I suggested either "Sandstorm" or "Untitled" (both from Dominion CD single) but she doesn't like them :(

Does anyone have any (sensible!) suggestions please? I have thought too long about it and can now only come up with ridiculous suggestions which will get me in trouble with the in-laws...

The wedding is in a village parish church (if that helps!)...

Cheers!

Some Kind of Stranger was originally written as a "perverse wedding march"...
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

We had 'She's My Best Friend' as our walking down the isle music.
Ahhhh. How quaint. :P

I agree with leaving the Sisters records at home. It's too hard to choose and nothing is quite right.
The now Mrs Treadstone71 came down the isle to Nick Caves 'Breathless' from the Lyre of Orpheus.
Back at the reception we had the same problem with the first dance as well and again settled on Nick Cave, this time '(Are you) the one that I've been waiting for?' from The Boatman's Call.
We left the Sisters till near the end of the night.

How about "If You Don't Want To F*ck Me F*ck Off" by Wayne County?

If you're going The Sisters Of Mercy route, then Driven Like The Snow sort of fits.

*"sensible" mode off*

Alternatively, I'd go for Zombina & The Skeletones' Guess What (I Love You).
Or Half Man Half Biscuit, No Regrets or Moody Chops.

Cheers.

Avoid trouble with the in-laws. :urff:

Go with the classic Wedding March.

Waste time planning the interesting part, the honeymoon, instead.

Congratulations.

 But that's not wedding music sweetie, more a tune to play when getting divorced. :innocent:

Wow, lots of ideas there...

I really can't imagine anything sensible now, not that I could before. I keep thinking "Breathe" by Prodigy

The possibilities are endless for non-sensible options!

I guess I was hoping for something obscure and classical...

Honeymoon is slightly easier to plan, hoping for three weeks in New Zealand ;D

Cheers for the suggestions so far...

I know the answer to this one!! Or atleast what I would like to walk down the isle to.

Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke - The Unfolding

And when the song hits 2:36 (on this video) The beautiful bride comes walking in. *sigh* But this video does not do the song justice.
