£417 in the end. For a little while there it almost looked like the Hussey signature would make it cheaper than an unsigned itemdespair wrote:Fully signed DD, even by Hussey who the seller claims was an original member

There were only 1000 of the original pressed. And I have heard that a fair proportion of that thousand were sent back to Merciful Release by the record shops "returned scratched" (i.e. unsold stock ) So I would be surprised if there's many more than about 300 in existence.

While scratching records (that have not sold) in order to return them to the distributor for a credit was commonplace in the 70's/80's (before CD's took over) it was mainly used for albums, and then only major labels.markfiend wrote:There were only 1000 of the original pressed. Most of the record shops that would have ordered DD via Red Rhino or MR would have been unlikely to;
a - order more than a handful of copies (Leeds/Yorks area would have been different)
b - not have been overly concerned with a handful of unsold indie singles

Fair enough. I was just passing on information as I received it. I can't guarantee it's true.Randall Flagg wrote:While scratching records (that have not sold) in order to return them to the distributor for a credit was commonplace in the 70's/80's (before CD's took over) it was mainly used for albums, and then only major labels.markfiend wrote:There were only 1000 of the original pressed.
