The 24hr PP is one of the best movies, so I do wanna dig into the written version too yeah... and everything written about the Hacienda interests me, even if it's told ina plodding manner (not being a native speaker might help in that dept!)

One brand new copy of 24 Hour Party People by Anthony H. Wilson is now sitting here waiting to be posted off to the Benelux

Sadly "Peter Hook's The Hacienda: How not to run a Nightclub" was nowhere to be seen, I even popped into Waterstone's across the street where I bought my copy last year If you don't mind waiting on MC Blaast then i'll post it across for you, but it's also available on Hooky's Hacienda Club Nights website - http://www.fac51thehacienda.com/product ... t-run-club

As James said it's slightly plodding as a lawyer recommended that Hooky cut out most of the anecdotes, the juicy gossip, so that he wouldn't get sued. It's still worth a read though, I liked his final comment relating to the Unknown Pleasures Master Tape

it could have been better written tho, it reads a bit like a bank statement

real writers like Bill Bryson, Clive James or Stuart Maconnie can make changing the sock on their left foot an interesting read - don't get meringue, I enjoyed it but was happy it was printed in big type

still reading this (ok, ok, it's taking a while but i have been on holiday for a week and a half!!)

it's brilliant. equal parts surreal, witty, touching & laugh-out-loud funny.

it's a translated version from it's original german, but feels so natural. the translator has done an amazing job of capturing the surreal world bluebear inhabits and it doesn't feel like a translation at all.

its one of those things that as you read it you keep chuckling to yourself, and you keep wanting to tell the person next to you about how amusing and clever that last gag was.
