Anybody got any word on how this album may have ended up different from what eventually became Gift / Floodland? Themes, sound etc? Was Hussey trying to take things in a different musical direction from what Von wanted, hence the Sisters 85 split?

Is it to simple to say that it would have sounded like Gods Own Medicine, but with Von singing?

actually i just reminded myself, that for years (since i got rid of the fear of listening the the m*****n) i've been thinking that Naked and Savage would be a perfect Sisters song, but with Eldritch's lyrics and voice and definitely without those "oh-ohh's". the tempo fits, etc..
Stuff that was done for the Sisters included Serpents Kiss, Garden of Delight, Naked & Savage and other bits an pieces. Remember that Hussey had been writing his own material since the early 80ies. So parts of the first Mish album were invariably demo'd for some Sisters sessions. But it wasn't until Hussey and Adams went into the Slaughterhouse sessions in September/October 1985 that was developed.
But what does the title “Left On m*****n And Revenge mean/refer to?
I heard somewhere that “Mission And Revenge was a street on the San Francisco version of monopoly.
If you took a left on "m*****n And Revenge" where would you be?

It doesn't refer to anything. The name surfaced in some publications. None of the people involved ever confirmed the name of the project, if it ever had one.
There was this old comment from Von in either a press release or interview back in the day:
We assume that their choice of name is entirely unconnected with the forthcoming Andrew Eldritch album which for some months has had the working title Left on m*****n and Revenge.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Of course, as we one day lurch to toward the light/nothingness/miscellaneous of our mind's eye on our NHS deathbeds, with a breathmask over our face and a rubber tube up our arse, whilst our family start looking at their watches hoping we were kidding about leaving the house to a cat sanctuary, the matter of what this proposed title was meant to refer to will still be pinballing around in our heads...

From two different songs on the same album:
"Surely I'll fulfill the mÃssîon,
I'm the one who heeds the call…"
"My order was revenge, now i'm worn out and torn…"
Decide for yourselves.

There are a bunch of demos of the early m*****n stuff being sung by VON. Garden of Delight and Dance on Glass are stirring in my memory. I have them kicking around on vinyl somewhere. To be honest they sounded pretty bad. I think that Eldritch and Hussey are just very different and they would never sound right doing each others stuff. Curiously they have both done fabulous versions of other peoples stuff, like 1969 etc.Karst wrote:Stuff that was done for the Sisters included Serpents Kiss, Garden of Delight, Naked & Savage and other bits an pieces. The versions that Adrew sung were a little different than Waynes, not sure if he changed the lyrics, or Wayne changed them, guess it was Von, because he used to, and probably still does hate Waynes writing.

There was a video of loud American woman interviewing Pat and Andrew. Andrew is bearded, so I guess this is post Dominion, 1988. IIRC he says that ‘Left On M*****n And Revenge’ refers to the San Francisco version of Monopoly.
Other gems from the interview include “one pair of trousers is not enough on Eldritch Blvd. or something like that, in reference to the fact that he was wearing two pairs.
“Off the board can also mean “all bets are off.
What was that about still pinballing around in our heads...
