Anyway, he seemed not sick at all ... as far as I could see ...
and he doesn't look sick in the vids from Budapest either ....
to the contrary ... it's a long time I've seen the Sisters looking so healthy relaxed and rockin' ... ...

Sorry to hear that as you were very much looking forward to that!Venus wrote:Strange. I heard the same story from a girl who was working at 013. She said that the afterparty was cancelled because of it.
But well.....Friday!

About the ill part..I know we asked people who worked at the 013 about the afterparty and they all said the same, the singer is too ill for the afterparty, the gig took too much energy... Even someone from the crew said he was taking pills...Now, I thought they rocked as well and didn't seem ill at all, none of them..but in my mind a thought began (dare I say it..) Eldritch does seem thinner again, he is smoking a lot again, he is hyper on stage if he is ill at all has it got something do with drugs?? We all know he used to be keen on some stuff. In fact to me he looked, well, fatter in the past gigs I wonder if he was on medication then. Now, even though it was great gig, I wonder if he is on drugs?Anachonda wrote:Review of show in Tilburg, in Dutch: http://www.rockportaal.nl/index.php/liv ... -23022011/
It's said in the review that Andrew was sick, was that just a cold or anything serious? How was his health in Budapest?
We were frontrow and my wife didn't want to go cos the last few gigs were crap, but even she was suprised and thought it was an amazing gig. She was happy cos she could see him, hear him and cos the band rocked..SO what is going on? I know I had the feeling that this would be the last time we would see The Sisters, ever. These stories only make it more real. Insiders seem to know him to be ill, we the fans seem to enjoy the gigs and think most of the time they are at the best they have been for a while.
I had fun this tour, whatever will happen or happens I dunno, I will always have memories, the songs, the bootlegs and the chat I had on this forum..For me The Sisters will always stay alive...
Just my humble thoughts....
I'm not fluent in inglese and can't say a word in dutch but sick is more like cold, flu or something 'light' not a serious disease like leukemia or other incurable disease. C'mon don't take it and/or make it too serious.
And besides, it would be too damn cliche, too simple and silly to stop touring because of 30th anniversary. Based on Your reviews everyone (band) seems to be happy playing gigs so I like to see in this nice and constantly changing setlists more of enjoy oneself, enjoy about being on stage for such a long time and more or less prosper in music business and so.
Where we all come if in happiness of we see bad signs?

I believe that the energy is transferred both ways, from the band to the crowd, but also other way around and even if AE was "sick" he still kept going.

it was the 3rd night running for crying out loud - no wonder he didn't feel up to partying... particularly if he'd overindulged in the Duvel the previous night
Inspired by all the cool dance moves on stage I was ready to shake my butt off on the dancefloor. But hey you can't get everything. So maybe the vogeltjesdans on Friday?Ozpat wrote:Sorry to hear that as you were very much looking forward to that!

I won't quote your humble thought, but with regard to your suspections of drugs ... usually, it's adrenline rather that pushes you in situations as such ... gives your body the kick it takes to cope with the challenge ... and afterwards, you get quite tired.mandrake wrote:

I know it from fencing. A tournament over two days is a lot ... three days, well, the utmost. It generates the energy from your fat reserves, (thus you loose weight), releasing what is deposited within them ... leading to some funny effects depending on what you've consumed over the years ...
Hell, I hope they don't eat only junk ... and that in case he should indeed be sick or ill, he cares properly for his health and nutrition ... ...
I'd heartily renounce at seeing them play in Vienna, if it's that what it takes ... f**k the ticket and everything ... ...
Please take care of yourself, Von!
agreed on most parts but really gezondheidstoestand is not mere sick, it's his state of health they claim. but we were proven wrong and they are still going now so..yeah...Bartek wrote:I'm not fluent in inglese and can't say a word in dutch but sick is more like cold,

Yes, the whole article is crap, I cannot believe it, but there's no decent review to be found about the Tilburg gig. But what I found disturbing is the being sick part, especially when I too got the feeling this may well be a farewell-tour of some sorts. I hope I am wrong though...Back in time wrote:I believe that the energy is transferred both ways, from the band to the crowd, but also other way around and even if AE was "sick" he still kept going.

Anyway, if someone should find a good, decent review - it doesn't have to be positive, just when the facts are accurate I would be pleased - please post it here. Seems like the quality of the press is detariorating...

It is all very simple .....
Announced was:
"Aansluitend zal The Sisters Of Mercy een aftershow doen in de Foyer van 013, waarbij zij zelf een dj-set gaan draaien! Mis het dus niet! "
"Directly after The Sisters of Mercy wil do an aftershow in the Foyer of 013, They themself wil do a dj-set. Do not miss it".
The 013 made a mistake with this one.
To let people believe that The Sisters of Mercy were going to be DJ in the aftershow.
The Sisters thenself are not doing any DJ sets or will do this in the future.
The only thing that was going on that they did ask Mr. E to make a list with his favorite tracks. He made the list and that was the music they did play in the Foyer.
That is all

Hi @mydominion, in the review it is stated that initially they wanted to cancel the live show - not the dj set - due to sickness. Well, anyways, he seems to be alive and kicking in Budapest and Vienna.
Turn into a china doll maybe go to the final ride

OMG.... the reporter actually made the effort to go to the gig before writing a review! Thanks for this one, Paul!
