Many options open. This plan will take form during the next two weeks.sziamiau wrote:hey Ozpat from where would you fly out from?
I'll keep you informed if you like.

mmm, sounds tempting...
in dub we trust
ugh ticket is not so cheap. thanks for the info...I have to think about this one..hopefully I will know more about my work schedule for the rest of the year in March...hopefully it won't sell out before i make up my mind.
Hmmh, actually I might be holidaying in Norway in July, and I see that flights Oslo-Helsinki are quite inexpensive right now
But the Helsinki concert ticket itself is expensive you folks say? And I bet prices in Finland are high as everywhere in Scandinavia?

The shipping is a bit expensive if you want normal tickets sent by mail (15 €) otherwise you can choose pdf tickets.
Otherwise the tickets have normal prices for Sisters...

The nordic countries are not that expensive, except Norway. So Helsinki will be much cheaper than Oslo if you arrive from there.

So far so good.......seems like we'll be able to make this one as well....
Long time lurker, long time Sisters fan (first gig Liverpool Uni May 1984).
After the great gigs at Leeds and not being able to make any of the other european dates I've decided I need to know when i'll see them next.
I camped at the first Sonisphere and I don't think I would do it again although a day ticket isn't out of the question.
So Helsinki it is and its worked out quite cheap. Easyjet from Manchester £90 return and good quality hotels in Helsinki cheaper than most places.
I look forward to seeing some fellow Heartlanders there.

Hello Mav, welcome!
May I ask which hotels you found cheap? I've been roaming the Lonely Planet website, but didn't get very far, as I have no clue about Helsinki.
Haha, I think I know what you mean, I feel like I need to know when I'll see them next too

How did you managed ? EasyJet claims that in July there are no flights available ! I also tried London (Gatwick) and Paris .Mav787 wrote:Long time lurker, long time Sisters fan (first gig Liverpool Uni May 1984).

Lord, what can the harvest hope for, if not for the care of the reaper man.
Thanks for the welcome.
Just 1 hour after i posted on here i got an e-mail from Easyjet telling me that they are stopping all services to Helsinki, from any airport, from June. Good old Easyjet....
So i've had to go for plan B, which is flying with Finnair from Manchester. Flight times are better as we arrive mid-afternoon Sunday rather than 10pm Sunday and leave Wednesday evening. But the big downside is its £245 return rather than £90 return. But having decided to go nothing will stand in our path...
Booked into the Radisson Blu Royal which is quite central and walking distance to the venue. Got it for £65 per night on lastminute.com which is not bad for a double room in a Radisson. Chose it using tripadvisor.com.

i'm most probably going to make this one too, but i think i'm going to wait a bit before i sort out the flight and accommodation. i've never been to finland before, so ideally i'd like to stay a couple of days. it'll be a different story if they announce some new dates around this one though.
anyone heard anything?
hello and welcome btw, Mav787!
