I'd suggest this Travelodge because at the moment, it's being re-furbished...it is busy as hell tho and can be noisy but it's central and easy to find.

Stayed at this hotel, so I can vouch it was clean and pretty comfy. At least the room I stayed in was.
Also, it's only a 5 min walk to Kings Cross Stn.
