Geek Anvil (currently geeking...)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I like Format Factory - rip DVD files to AVI, MPEG, rip the audio off, whatever you like. You'll want to rip the DVD to the HD first, though - use DVD Decrypter for that.

It's very nice Z

The only gripe I have is that I need to get used to scrolling the other way, but that'll pass.
Very fast download & installation. No probe at all.
;D
Cheers.

Agreed in all counts, although I have been trying a snow leopard plugin called Scroll Reverser for a few weeks now - it mimics Lion's inverted scrolling, so I'm pretty much used to it. Confuses people trying to use my work MacBook though ;D

Wish I'd known about that.
I ran that Monolingual program too, just to get shot of all the help languages I didn't really need.
Noticed this on the check list

Woah! there boys, what's all this 'reverse scrolling' malarky?

You know when you're using a touch pad & when you drag your fingers down, the page scrolls up?
Well, with Lion it works t'other way round.

I won't be upgrading for the foreseeable future as it doesn't have a workaround for FreeHand MX :|

That's the thing.
They've made it to mimic the touch & pad interface.
Getting the hang of it now

think of it as moving the document, not the viewing port onto it:

scroll up and the doc moves up
scroll down and the doc moves down

rather than the established method whereby:

scroll up and your view of the the doc moves up (the doc itself actually moves down)
scroll down and your view of the the doc moves down (the doc itself actually moves up)

if you see what i mean...

it's an interesting shift and one which i'm not sure works on non-touch screen devices where there is a physical disconnect between what you touch and what moves :|

Sometimes it seems to come natural to scroll upside down, sometimes I wonder what the hell is wrong with my computer  Oh and left to right feels simply wrong!

I do think there's a chance fresh pc-to-mac switchers won't be too happy with this switch, though?

*nb MacFolks - stick yer downloaded 'Installer' on a USB or disc for future use before you install, it's a 'one trick pony' otherwise
