I'll upload some stuff when I get the chance. The wiki is something I know much about - I was the one that originally registered the domain and hosted it.Being645 wrote:Well discogs have a copyright note on their page and yeah, I think we should have something the like in the Wiki as well. As to lyrics I've seen to that. But not yet as to pics. Can't do it all and also I wouldn't want to!
Anyway, I think it's better to have other pictures than what you find elsewhere in the web and - everybody can contribute and have a part in the Wiki, even if they don't/can't put things up there themselves. I think that is a nice contribution to the fanbase as much as from the fanbase.
So, yes. If you find time to make some decent pictures/scans yourself, I should very much appriciate, send them up there and create the according page with the additional infos I've got or those you might as well be able to deliver ... ... as soon as I find time. That can be a few days as well.

... yes, I know. A beautiful idea ... ...hallucienate wrote: I'll upload some stuff when I get the chance. The wiki is something I know much about - I was the one that originally registered the domain and hosted it.
However apart from you, nobody seems to know much about wikis ...
When I started here, I didn't even have the least idea of HTML ... ...
Now, there are so many ugly vandaliser (and also some wrongly created ) pages in it
... if you know how to handle that, please give a hint to those entitled to do something about it ...
I'm well prepared to make a list of stuff to be deleted... ...
Here are the current threads referring to the Wiki ...

Vision Thing arrived in the post (not heard all the Sister's stuff yet). Not sure about the sound, it's like David Bowie's Tin Machine a bit too much. 'More' is good, obviously.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Exactly: Vision Thing is very far away from the somewhat overload hystery (and moralisticisms) of Tin Machine.Machine Regime wrote:NopeThoth_Hermes wrote:Vision Thing arrived in the post (not heard all the Sister's stuff yet). Not that I didn't like Tin Machine but Vision Thing is nothing the like ... although You Could Be The One is not on it ... ...
Anyway, Bowie is definitely great - but not absolutely perfect.
The Sisters of Mercy have always done their thing in a way and in places Bowie couldn't touch.
Something I had always been missing with Bowie's music or anybody else's.
A pity they don't do records anymore, there's nothing like them ... ...

The Sisters don't really have enough of a catalogue to make any kind of comparison to Bowie. They released three albums all pretty similar - baritone voice and drum machine - all excellent.
Bowie has been the greatest influence on late 20th Century music. He has released many albums of many diverse styles
There is no comparison.

I agree, basically ... ... though I had no intention to compare them! AND I find The Sisters' singles, EPs and albums quite diverse as well ... ...million voices wrote:The Sisters don't really have enough of a catalogue to make any kind of comparison to Bowie. Btw, as some of you might have guessed, my latest purchase were two VoC test sleeves. However, I cannot post a picture, as I these are still in mail.
