The March Violets...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Unfortunately not. Only had time for a quick hello before they went on stage. It'll keep.

He did make a point of giving me a copy of the setlist at the start of the show. Bloody nice chap.

Good you could fully enjoy their gig!
Last year I drove quite far to see them on a festival and it was a mess, because of bad sound. Si's voice was just never heard just as the guitar...
I hope one day I get another chance.

Really enjoyable last night. We had a lovely/ massive curry with Si after too: he really is the nicest man in the world- his performance was absolutely top! :)
Saw the birmingham, manchester and glasgow shows this tour- really regret missing london. Next time.
Looking forward to the new album, the new songs have been ace live.

Festival sound can always be a bit hit and miss. You shouldn't give up on them.

Here are some videos from the DV8 Festival in York where they headlined. These are all new songs. See what you think.

Tokyo Flow

My Demons

I personally think these new songs are every bit as good as the songs from back in the day, if not better.

All good, very nice listening. I have always been a bigger fan of some mates of their's though - I wonder what new stuff the Sisters have planned?

Mr Denbigh doesn't seem entirely happy with the March Violets going on without him. To say the least.

Is he p!ssed that they're doing it, or just p!ssed that he can't be a part of it?
It is sad that his situation might exclude him from touring & wotnot.

sadly from what i gather its neither. or maybe both. although i may be well wide of the mark it seems Si thinks that they shouldnt do it without him out of respect for the fact that he cant do it for the obvious reasons; and the fact that they are means its turned bitter between them all.

Oh that sounds really good ... :D ... would love to pre-order and have a CD of their coming album, but 13€ for the item PLUS 15€ in postage - ex import and handling fees on this side of the channel (about another €7.50) ... phh ...

Keep an eye on their bandcamp page Or the record label's bandcamp page (if they have one).
At least there's the option of a digital copy if they choose that as a format.
Also, local record stores are well worth a look. Even nationally.
When The Cure released the Wish deluxe, I bought it from a store in Budapest without all that BS cost added on
Cheers.

Yeah, I'll check locally. At least they accept Paypal on Bandcamp. Anyway, even for the digital release they charge taxes there ($2.09 on top of the basic $11, i.e. 19%)... how comes, really, taxes on digital stuff ... ...

Trainspotting question here. Was "Radiant Boys" ever released on an actual record before it started appearing on compilations? Discogs say it wasn't on any of their MR or Rebirth singles. Seems strange if not seeing that there's a promo vid for it

Yeah, but that's a compilation album, is my point. I was trying to find out if it was on a single/EP release before then.

ive never thought of it as a compilation album until now. as far as i was concerned it was their first album. it was ONLY abum of theirs when i bought it in 1985. we live and learn...

so: their wikipedia page is full of holes and it seems that discogs has only half the story as well. But its from this 1982 Peel Session apparently.

i'll leave it to you to check if its the same version. if its not then no idea as that info came from an old Violets fan and (although i could) i'm not going to bother Rosie or Si about it to be honest. .

Nah, it's not the same version as the Peel Session track.

I remember in the lead-up to _Made Glorious_, Si and the crew were going on about "we never did a proper album before".

Yes and sadly, their old website has been turned into the latest one with only a minimum of the content it once had - all releases, lyrics, bio and what not all... *sigh ... :( ...

OK, I've found the old version archived on wayback machine ... https://web.archive.org/web/20190121034 ... ets.co.uk/ ... fortunately ... :) ...
