Only now I've noticed there seems to be no Merciful Release catalogue# for this single, at least not on discogs ...

And in the Wiki it was wrongly given as MR053 which is the # for Temple Of Love (1992) ...

Does anybody know something about this issue?

Is When You Don't See Me not a "Merciful Release" after all ...  ...

It has the MR logo on the back and on the labels but no MR number. The catalogue number is as given at Discogs. Don't know why.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

I always thought that this issue got the numbers MR53 and TOL 92 is MR053.

Something to do with the fact that is is a German release only?

I'd wondered about that but the French-only release of Alice (with the supposedly white sleeve) has the MR015 number. Mind you, that's just a different edition of a UK release whereas there's no UK edition of WYDSM so maybe that's it.

Hhm, according to the Wiki but also according to discogs and the ultimatesistersguide the white-sleeve 7" was released in the UK as well. Could be wrong, though ...

Btw, are there also mispressed 12" Alice EPs :?:

I think you're right. The Body Electric single doesn't have a MR# either, but still has the labels ...

EDIT:
Resolved! Thanks to Drsisters, who listed everything thorougly ... :notworthy: ... and thanks of course for the hint!

RESULT:
When You Don't See Me do all have MR53TX catalogue#s and
Temple Of Love (1992) have MR53, MR53T, MR53C, MR53CD and MR53CDX. Well, ok and the promo which has MR53SAM

Hah, pleased ... ;D ...

I'll believe you, but it's not printed anywhere on the 12" vinyl

At least the zeroes are clearly out.

Mine was made in France but still has a MR number.

It has the MR logo on both sleeve and label but no MR number on either. It has the CNT number instead, which, if I remember correctly, was due to a distribution problem. And it was released in the UK so that doesn't really support the German-only release theory.

Why would it have the same catalogue number as TOL? Adding the TX is usually just an indication that it's a second 12" of the same release. And if that was an official catalogue number then surely it would appear on the record. Besides, DrSisters has some of the EastWest catalogue numbers wrong. They should be:
7" 9031-73895-7 (not 9031-73897-0, which is the ltd 12")
12" 9031-73896-0 (not 9031-73897-0, which is still the ltd 12")
12" + patch 9031-73897-0
Promo CD PRCD 8364-2
CD 9031-73896-2

Thank you! I've integrated that into the page and at the same time learned how to use Caslon Antique in the Wiki ... ;D ...

Now, the page does only need uploading a few more pictures. But not today, i.e. tonight ... ...

@stufarq

I think the #s are ok now.
As to promos - these have a catagory of their own in the Wiki , because they usually look different
and are therefore not listed among the "regular" releases.

I stick with the German release only thing. I must have read it somewhere. It might have been sold in other countries as well in the end but it was supposed to be a Germans only thingy.

Yes, and that's how it's now written in the Wiki - German release only.

Fair enough.

Yes probably. In case it's unclear, I wasn't disputing that in my previous post (it was definitely only released in Germany and that does seem the most likely reason for the lack of a MR number); I just meant that the Body Electric single was a different set of circumstances and doesn't help the case either way.
