Here's a really cool and rare one for the collectors of poster.

Not exactly cheap, though ...

And by this we eventually get know the correct name of the venue:

PUNTACAPO ... something like "pointed cape" in English.

i thought that collectors are not buying stuff as (any kind of) investment.
if i had too much money on my pocket i would buy something like that, but i'm not a collector, i buy albums (so far only CDs) to listen and i never understand collectors minds. but i'm not judging them- if none get hurt, do whatever pleasing you.

I'm not any kind of serious collector and I phrased it badly but I meant artistic/historic value rather than monetary value. I didn't even check my grammar and spelling

Gig posters, particularly pre-noughties ones, are genuine historic artefacts - they're unique to the band, the venue, area and the fashion/designs of the time.
I went to the Bowie V&A exhibition this weekend (it's even better than I'd hoped for, go if you can!) and there were loads of fantastic vintage posters dating back to the mid-60s but I didn't see any limited 7" green vinyl bootlegs or marbled 12" live recordings.
Thats cos apart from their 'rarity' and their most recent price, those things have very little significance beyond the serious bootleg collectors.
Unlike this poster, which is a very lovely thing - I hope it finds a good home. :D

PS I just looked at it again - looks like the same logo typeface as the XXX posters, weird!

I made a serious bid on it but then got a cancellation notice of my bid. It then turned out the offer was gone so I did send a note to the seller asking an explanation but never got any reply.

Not very polite. I guess someone made a private offer higher than my maximum bid.

Pfff .... :-(

Sorry to hear that Bruno. Now that I know that you were also in the running for this poster, I can easily say I never had a chance

Hahaha, possible but that is never guaranteed. I have already lost quite some interesting items on eBay due to last-second bidders.

Oh yeah, me too... very annoying those last second bidders, aren't they?
They make Ebay a lot less fun :|

I think you can actually install sniping apps that will snipe at the last second for you.
Cheers.

Those apps are the worst. What's fun about that? No no, they just ruin the bidding game completely.
It has happened too many times at really the last couple of seconds that I just know there's no nerdy looking fella on another computer trying to outbid me in the very last second... No no, it's that fekkin' app

Going back to the Paradiso poster, I didn't know that The Folk Devils had supported them on that date. A great band back in the day but not in the slightest bit goff. Check out "Chewin the Flesh" if you don't remember them.
Does anyone remember who supported the Sisters on the German leg of the tour ? I only did the Belgian gigs on that leg and I haven't been able to find the info elsewhere.

Was there a support band at all at the German gigs? I couldn't go there as I had other appointments (went to RHA instead), but can't remember anyone told me of an opener / support act :?:

Thanks, that's maybe why I couldn't remember ! Btw I was just reading up about the Folk Devils (I remember reviewing one of their live shows for Leeds Student) and was shocked to find that frontman Ian Lowery had passed away in 2001. Very sad.
