Fantasy Football - World Cup Brazil 2014

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Looking at the players who have scored the most points it looks to me that its better to pick a defender for captain. They seem to accrue points much easier than forwards, especially if they are on the side who spend the most time defending.

May have to change strategies.

my problem is that there's not really much left to replace with. in terms of points, there's not much in it - not sure if there's enough difference for me to take the gamble with. thought about taking oscar out, but for whom? and without neymar, he's going to have to step up a bit.

it's not all bad, pista. tomorrow is part 2 of tasting weeks - we are dipping crisps in choc, cooling and then trying out. there will be apple crumble, proper plain cheesecake, macaroni cheese, courgette cake, fruits, noodles and rice to come over the days...

Going to be difficult for me to hold 2nd as when the teams are announced at 8pm Tuesday I'll be watching the Sisters in Belfast.

Last Friday at 4pm I was watching Motorhead in a field with crappy internet on my phone when I discovered Mertesacker was out. Didn't have time to make transfers to get Hummels in, so rushed in Hoewedes. Cost me 11 points

Next up...

08Jul BRA v. GER
09Jul NED v. ARG

Players definitely out of the SFs:

NEYMAR (BRA) - Injured
Thiago SILVA (BRA) - Suspended
Angel DI MARIA (ARG) - Injured

Strategies:

Over in Nigel-land there appears to be a general consensus on how to navigate the SFs.

1 GK
6 DEF
4 MID + 3 FWD, or... 5 MID + 2 FWD

With the McFIFA scoring favouring the defensive elements of the game (which has rightly been mentioned before), 5-3-2, or 5-4-1 are the preferred formations. Ideally, with your squad able to adapt and adopt either formation, particularly after the first game.

But as always, be your own (wo)man. :)

The crisps were a hit!
Courgette cake - apparently as good as carrot cake. Yet to be seen.

Been pondering my moves all day, but in the end gave up, as there's too many variables in relation to tonight's game.

I'll wait for the teams sheets at 21:00 (CET) and then go Full-On-Nigel!
