Top notch player, to bad the good ones have to leave first
Saw him first time with The Sisters back in 96, didn't impress that much then.
In 2000 when he stepped in after Mike he made a stronger impression. Fave song with Adam was Romeo Down, they really nailed that song good.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

I was a longtime admirer of Herr Starling. Not only was he one of my favorite TSOM guitarists (quite possibly yt favorite), his Starlings work was unbelievably good. As was his solo stuff. An enormously talented man.
I'd have loved a record with Chris on it. Starlings were brilliant, and he would have brought a lot to the Sisters.
God bless him and keep him, and watch over his family.

This is very sad news. I was listening to Goodbye Cruel Circus the other day and thinking what an excellent album it is, not to mention one-off tracks like Bobby Slaughter. G'night, Chris.

I do apologise, I got the wrong end of the stick. I thought his "pleasant surprise" was a reaction to your expressed shock and sorrow.

No problem Markfiend. I haven't been on this forum for ages and ages and when I took a peek and saw Chris passed it really shocked me. It seems a lot quieter on HL than it used to be?? I have been looking at the present gigs and I believe AE has gained a little weight??LOL. Getting back on the subject of Chris has there been an obituary for him? All the best and it's nice to be back!

Nearly 2 yrs since his passing. Did he manage to get the funding he needed before he died? Sad really that his wife was terminally ill aswell! He was part of the group for sometime and done a fine job along with Adam Pearson.
