The all new 'Who's Going Where and When' thread

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Stand-Up Open Mic in Vienna tonight. Well, actually it started two minutes ago, but my set isn't finished, so I guess I'll saunter in at some later point and hope there's still room.

By the way, the Pye was good fun last night, nice decent boozer for any Wirral folk on here.

Went to see The Raveonettes on the A38 ship in Budapest last night & they were freakin' awesome
Image

Two support bands. DYN, who were a bit cr@p TBH & a band from Poland called Bokka who were senflippingsational
Image

Think Bjork, Fever Ray & Zola Jesus all rolled into one. They played the most amazing cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart too.
:notworthy:
Cheers.

Saw the Raveonettes in Vienna last year. Yup, definitely awesome ^^ (not so much the audience, who preferred to chat and do stuff with their incredibly bright phone screens.)

Ramonas @ Brudenell 5th March.

Morrissey @ First Direct Arena Leeds.

Just like to make a comment here, last Friday went to see Autobahn in Wakefield at a venue called the Hop. Brilliant venue, and a great gig may I add,now there's about 4 bars inside the venue, and a gig was going on downstairs , seperate to the main event, free in may I add, and the Hop is 5 minutes back
to Wakefield to the Westgate rail station, so easy to get back to Leeds on a night out. The manager even took the trouble to give the changed train times back to Leeds on the Leeds music forum for that particular night. Sorry for going on a bit , but thought the manager of the Hop deserved some credit for his effort for the Autobahn gig night.
I go to gigs, and if there is any money left, I eat

Swans 21/5 at the Roundhouse.
Any advice on what I should listen to of theirs in the meantime gratefully accepted as I don't really know them..

Also Fleetwood Mac and Neil Diamond in my 'ticking off the legends mode' but I know where I am with them!

There are so many albi to choose from, but as we're in the new millenium now anyway I'd suggest to pick one of the latest: The Seer and/or To Be Kind. Either of those will prepare you best for the gig. I for one LOVE Swans and have seen them a handfull of times over the years (last time was in september) and was never less than completely blown away!

I was gonna go see Briqueville tonight, but have to cancel because sick at home :(

Check out the last 3 records: My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky, The Seer, and To Be Kind. But honestly there's a chance nothing they play will have been put out on a record yet.

also: Bring earplugs, and enjoy. They're amazing live. You can feel them in your bones.
