Then why on earth does he run an interview with the Sisters of Mercy?Mav787 wrote:That quote was from the editor of VLR. Its his job to sell magazines.
And who is this "Von" guy everybody seems to be talking about?
Only the Americans could have built a place like this in the middle of a jungle.

I had suscribed to it, when they started. But the issues arrived here only months after release or even not at all, and so I didn't renew it ... ...

Ben "Likes" the post, so I'd guess so.
Ben was there with Christian Riou who was the singer in Claytown Troupe. They've been friends since the late '80s in Bristol.
I was told that when Ben was 15 he was such a good guitarist that he would have played in CTT except he was too young to go on tour.

Thanks for the info. VLR out this Friday, KJ on the cover, features a free Lemmy print and cover also mentions All About Eve and Iggy Pop. Sisters strap line is "Eldritch Opens Up".
Can't wait, even if the interview does turn out to be more of the same.Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:Thanks for the info. VLR out this Friday, KJ on the cover, features a free Lemmy print and cover also mentions All About Eve and Iggy Pop. Sisters strap line is "Eldritch Opens Up".

...That is...pretty strange actually. Anything else interesting you'd be willing to share? The shops around here don't have the new issue in yet.

Not much new (no mention of a new album)....just the usual history of the band that eats up a lot of space. He does seem happy tho.
Someone kindly scanned it and put it up on the RIBBONS - (Art)-Gallery facebook page.

Just some briefing...
Eldritch clearly takes great pleasure from entertaining audiences and his loyal fan base, an experience that has been bolstered by fresh personnel, including guitarist Chris Catalist: "That man has learnt more in his many fewer years onstage that I have in my lifetime."
About FALAA: "Unfortunately it wasn't a perfect choice of producer (David Allen), but than again we didn't have any choice of producer...I wouldn't recommend the album to anyone because I don't think the songs was well performed or recorded."
About Floodland: "I listened to it six month ago, and I'm very proud of that album."
About Vision Thing: "I actually tried with that album, because "Floodland" was so layered, to create something that was really, 'cartoon rock', however when I listen to that album now, I realise I utterly failed because they're things happening in the soundscape that still astound me."
About Marx, Hussey and Adams leaving: "I stressed they departed I didn't fire anyone." As with the details surrounding Marx's exit , Eldritch is respectfully reluctant to discuss why Hussey and Adams left, mostly because he feels it's a distinctly disinteresting topic. " If anyone still cares about it, I find they're being a bit too nostalgic. I don't mind answering questions about it, but it's not about something I would stay up at night thinking about."
About music industry: "The odds against my band or any band have always been stacked, they've been times we've been dependent on it (the music industry) and times we haven't, now we have nothing but utter contempt for it."

I scanned it for Ribbons - I am the mad Poodle lady - hello
I'm glad that he is happy. What about the cats now he's got a dog.
Eldritch is having a splendid time chilling out, spending quality time with his girlfriend, listening to dub into wee hours and enjoying the company of his pet poodle. "I like doing interviews when I'm on holiday and my mind is free, so I don't have to think about changing a guitar chord or buying niblets for the tour bus."
